ONE CHILD.

Global goals can sound enormous. Bring this one down to the size of a child.

A child with favorite games, people who love them, and a life still unfolding. That is who this promise is for.

Today, let’s keep the human purpose at the center of the conversation. We support a world where no child’s future is changed by polio. Help carry that message forward.

On 12 April 1955, when the Salk vaccine was declared “safe, effective, and potent”, church bells rang out, kids were let out of school, and headlines around the world declared ‘Victory Over Polio’. But polio is still not just a memory. Remembering is also protecting. Because what one generation experienced, another generation can avoid. World Polio Day is more than a date on the calendar. It is a day that reflects Rotary’s long-standing commitment to ending polio and reminds us of the power of collective action. Rotary has been working to eradicate polio for more than 45 years, through fundraising, advocacy, awareness, vaccination support and community mobilisation.

Behind every milestone are Rotarians and Rotaractors who have given their time, resources, voices and energy to this cause. Their efforts deserve to be celebrated.

As we count down to 24th October, let’s celebrate the people who continue to show up, speak up and take action for a polio-free world.

🎉 24 days to celebrate the impact.
📢 24 days to raise awareness.
💪🏽 24 days to take action.

Rotarians and Rotaractors, what will your club do for World Polio Day?

Congratulations to our very own member Ted Haynes recognized by Rotary District 5495 as Rotarian of the Month for August 2026. For several years, Ted Haynes has taken the lead in organizing and facilitating Phoenix Rotary 100’s annual High School Speech Contest. This signature event has been a proud club tradition for more than 70 years. Coordinating the contest is a complex, time-consuming responsibility that requires nearly year-round dedication. Ted is also one of the club’s most dependable service volunteers. He welcomes members as the check-in volunteer at regular meetings, co-chairs the Membership Committee, and serves in
countless other roles whenever help is needed. Ted embodies everything Rotary stands for—integrity, selfless service, and a commitment to inspiring fellow members to volunteer and serve. #serviceaboveself #peopleofaction #uniteforgood #createlastingimpact
