This painting captures the feeling of both freedom and captivity simultaneously. The artist intended to expose the stark duality experienced by Afro-Belizean society within a social and colonial context. The artist describes the piece as a reflection on the universal desire to break free from various constraints (whether they be societal, emotional, or personal) contrasted with the sensation of being restricted or trapped.

I believe it is a beautiful work of art and worthy of our most sincere stewardship and remembrance, as it portrays one of the cruellest and at the same time most changing contexts that the world has experienced 🌎🇧🇿

After a difficult time, during which many of the garden plants died, this lovely cactus has survived. Its little pups have begun to grow, brightening our day 🍃

Sometimes we have to say goodbye to what we love, but one day the sun will rise again, and the light will give vitality to new life, to new projects. Plants are an example of that resilience we need in our most vulnerable moments 🌱🍃

A few days ago, I noticed a clover growing in the pot of a semi-succulent in our garden. For some reason, instead of removing it, I observed the interesting position of the leaves. They were slightly closed, forming the shape of a pyramid. When I discovered the reason for this phenomenon, I was amazed. During night, the clovers close their leaves, through a nocturnal process called nyctinasty, this is basically how clovers sleep. When I took this photograph, the sun was just beginning to illuminate the clovers in the pot, so they were just starting to wake up. Isn't it sweet?

Basically, these little green friends overslept and woke up a little bit later 😍☘️✨
