FIGHTING FIRE is yours! Song 2 from my upcoming record is a darker page of my journal for you to experience. I have chosen to use the words I can’t erase on the darker pages of my life to make art with sound, and I am thrilled with how this piece of art turned out.

I can’t say enough how bringing “Fighting Fire” to life would not have been possible without the team below, and you Ballers who have made the dream of getting this music to the finish line a reality.

Thank you to my producer and fellow artist @jonnylucasofficial for your brilliant partnership in this new era of music with me!

To my dear friends @rhosestudiostrings for the unbelievable string arrangement and for believing in me always.

@hollandlee for co-writing this with me and for your production

@atriummusicofficial for distribution

Photos and visualizer by @annelisesarah (visualizer drops at 10am CDT!!)

I’m excited we got this song out in time for fall. For some reason, “Fighting Fire” sounds like autumn to me. Let me know if you agree. I feel like it lands somewhere between radiohead’s “in rainbows” and Sarah McLachlan.

But I’d love to hear what you think.

Thanks for being here, my friends.

FIGHTING FIRE VISUALIZER IS UP 🏹🔥 over on @youtube ! I may or may not have *almost* caught my hair on fire filming this, and it was 300 percent worth it :)

Directed + filmed by @annelisesarah ! Thank you for your vision + creativity…I’m blown away by your talent!

I’ve always dreamed of having visuals to go with my music. I grew up on MTV and VH1 and songs having a cinematic story to go along with them, so it means so much to me for my songs to finally have a visual concept to match the music. Also, the piece of my heart that used to want to be a cartoonist swells that the visual side of the music is becoming a reality.

Go watch the whole thing and let me know what you think :)

PS, just shooting my shot over here…I feel like one of my favorite artists, @madicunningham would love this song. Do I know anyone that wants to send this to her? It never hurts to ask, right?!

So stoked to get my hands on a copy of the new album “Static Nation” by @the_constellations!

Earlier this year I got to produce this record here at the studio with @elijah.jones.165 @erikmatthijs @goaskjared @gaberomandrums @kenmartinmusic, and it’s safe to say we all poured our heart and soul into this one. Elijah is a phenomenal songwriter, and there are always a thousand ideas flying around the studio about what instrumentation, vibe, colours and tones could best support his writing. It’s always a pleasure watching each song start as an acoustic and vocal scratch, then watching it bloom from there.

Now all 11 songs are out in the world and I could not be prouder of this one! If you haven’t already, go grab yourself a copy. Head over to their site or socials and keep streaming it too!

My NEXT single “The Way I Love You” from my EP is OUT on all music platforms!!!

To be honest this song I was scared to release.
Not because of the lyrics or melody that I created when I was 17 years old.... but the time when it was created. I was younger and in a completely different world I live in now. These memories opened a window to a vulnerable new style of music that was far different than the other songs I am releasing. My heart has always loved so deeply and this song to me is so special, because I once heard songs like this when I was younger and it really did resonate with me in those moments.
This song showed me the growth and ways I have become a new girl loving again and not stripped away by the pain that was once there after heartbreak. That’s why I decided to continue with this song that meant too much to me as a high school girl and now adding closure into a special moment in my past. This song revolves over innocent young love. This song now carries into a new love as an adult and I truly believe that people of all ages can connect with it.
This is different from my last release but each song has a story of a real vulnerable connection to my emotions put onto notes carrying along a melody that is a part of me.

This song was one of the first real ones I felt so passionate about and it deserved to be shared as it still holds onto my heart strings.
Please share and support and comment! All the things to try and get this song out here!

Working with @jonnylucasofficial on so much of this new era of music is such an out of the ordinary experience! I’ve had some highlights of my entire music career right here in this room at @roundcornerstudios . I remember when we were tracking my vocals for, “Easier This Way,” I had the biggest smile on my face singing the bridge. I hope all of you can hear that smile! I’ll also say this: a few years ago, I was on a walk and trying to figure out direction for some of these songs. I felt the Lord say to my heart, “Work with Jonny.” I listened to what I felt was God’s voice, and it has become so clear that the jonny x christen collaboration is literally out-of-this-world/ a God idea. I’m really grateful to have a producer who gets me, believes in me, and is such a big part of my music journey. I can’t believe this is just song one because it feels like we’ve been working hard for so long. But this is just the beginning! Thank you, Jonny! @michaelballdrums and I are so grateful for you!! #alternativemusic #newmusic

Loving this Jaguar the awesome team at @fender hooked me up with. Slamming it through the Neve pre's and it just cuts through a mix like nothing else.
