Three years ago today, Day 165 on #Route66 in 2021/22 and Day 25 of my third EB 66 trip that year, I was in Oklahoma City and saw the Oklahoma premiere of @tromateam 's #ShakespearesShitstorm. I was so happy to meet the film's director, @unclelloydkaufman . Lloyd has always been so inspirational to me as an artist. He was such an inspiration that I started to make my "own damn movies" and my three music-films have been on the film festival circuit since, and I've started my own film production company, @nolenstolls.

Related to Route 66, this theater dates back to 1924, so predating the highway by two years. A 66 traveler in the early years may well have seen a silent film here accompanied by a theater organ (pic 5). So, this experience relates to both the #AD1926 and #TheShowWillGoOn movements of the suite, the opener and closer of the eight-movement orchestral suite.

This is Pierce St. in Amarillo, TX, which from 1954–84 was Business 66. On the left side of the road, you can see the Globe News Center for Performing Arts, where the @amarillosymphony performs. Three years ago today, I was in Amarillo to give an interview the next morning on @highplainspublicradio to discuss the Route 66 Suite for symphony orchestra. I'm pictured here with the host of that show Jenny Inzerillo.

Considering all of the media coverage about it, I'm thinking about doing a documentary about the making of the @route66suite . There were interviews on @kobtv4 , @okcfox , @npr stations in Amarillo and north @highplainspublicradio , Albuquerque @kunmradio , and SW Missouri @ksmuradio , two stories on @yahoonews , a newspaper story that hit the @apnews and went nationwide and overseas, radio and podcast interviews, and stories in dozens of smaller newspapers up and down #Route66.

Three years ago today, I stopped at @buckatomson66 on #Route66 in Tulsa, OK for the first time. So cool! MaryBeth is such a gem. It soon became one of the places to inspire the #26GasStations movement.

This is from Day 16. Follow the trip on 66 to L.A. here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/day-16-21-22-to-108468158

Here's a great story about the #Route66Suite by @rushtongriffin , reporter for @kobtv4 out of Albuquerque, NM. This aired two years ago today but is still relevant: https://www.kob.com/uncategorized/music-professor-composes-tribute-to-route-66/

Two years ago today, @okcfox's @katiearatatv interviewed me about the #Route66Suite for #symphonyorchestra. It ended up airing on 80+ TV stations nationwide! This orchestral work will expand orchestras' audiences, as evidenced by the interest by the general public.

Two years ago today, I met one my biggest inspirations in film (and art-making in general), @unclelloydkaufman (President of @tromateam and creator of the Toxic Avenger) at the OK premiere of his latest movie. I enjoyed finally meeting him, and I thoroughly enjoyed his new movie #ShakespearesShitStorm, which I firmly believe is his #magnumopus. The event was held in the old American Theatre (1924) in Oklahoma City, so inspiration for the #AD1926 movement of the #Route66Suite for #symphonyorchestra as well as the #TheShowWillGoOn movement--check out the organ! I like to imagine myself as a #Route66 traveler in 1926 seeing a silent film here. At any rate, greetings from Tromaville, I mean, greetings from the Route 66 town of Oklahoma City! I look forward to seeing Lloyd and Toxie cuddling to the sweet, suite sounds of my orchestral music.

Tonight, I'm watching Part Four of @unclelloydkaufman's Make Your Own Damn Movie on @tromanowapp and was so happy to see The @guildcinema featured! The Guild is right on #Route66 in ABQ, one of the places inspiring the music of the final movement of my suite, #TheShowWillGoOn. I saw a couple of movies there and love the single-screen indie aspect of the place. The next year, I met Lloyd at another theater in a Route 66 town-- @rodeocinema in OKC, another place inspiring the Route 66 Suite. It was the Oklahoma premiere of his latest directorial works. I included a few screenshots of the place how it looked over 20 years ago and some pics I took about two years ago.
