"World Builders" is on view now! Please join us at an opening reception this Saturday, October 24, at 5pm in ArtsWestchester's gallery (31 Mamaroneck Ave, White Plains). “World Builders” brings together 15 artists who explore the expanding influence of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies on the body and human connection. Rather than treating technology as a distant force, they reveal it as something felt: a presence that touches, shapes and reimagines how we experience everyday life, both physically and emotionally. Also on view: “Josué Morales Urbina | Pericón: A Cure for All Ailments,” the latest Janet Langsam Vault Project installation. Exhibition dates: October 17- January 17 More info at the link in bio. #westchester #artinwestchester

🎂Celebrating Processing’s 25th Anniversary at @arselectronica was a reminder that Processing is all about the people. This year’s festival brought 125,000 visits across 40 venues and among them, a community that came together to celebrate 25 years of open-source creative code. At its core, Processing is both a software and a community, woven together by millions of creators and hundreds of dedicated contributors across all six continents.  The diverse perspectives that strengthen and enrich the Processing ecosystem would not have been possible without your participation. Thank you for continuing to play a part in Processing’s history. #arselectronica26 #futurebegins #negotiatinghumanity

📍Find Processing at @arselectronica “Radical Futures: Creative Code, Agency, and Humanity” looks to the future, exploring the role of creative code and human intervention in a world that is increasingly conversant with automated systems. Curated by Roopa Vasudevan, featuring work by elekhlekha, Spencer Chang, and LaJuné McMillan.  These artists engage with automation while making space for human intervention — exploring how we might exert technological agency in an increasingly automated world. Together, they show the power of building your own tools to find answers current systems can’t reach. 🗓️ September 9 to 13, 2026 📍Francisco Carolinum Linz OÖ Landes-Kultur GmbH, Museumstraße 14, 4010 Linz, Austria #arselectronica26 #futurebegins #negotiatinghumanity “A Child’s Prayer” by LaJuné McMillan is an interactive installation exploring digital alchemy, transience and collective spiritual ecology. The installation acts as a living digital crucible, processing a foundational archive of 1,300 anonymous prayers alongside a continuous stream of live submissions. “we were browsing” by Spencer Chang turns daily actions and datapoints from web browsing into beautiful portraits of our Internet selves. Every swipe, scroll, click and drag become cursors painting lines, windows dancing across the screen, letters and phrases filling a page. Transforming the pervasive yet invisible practice of surveillance into explicit paintings, the project reclaims collective control of our data. “Network Gong Ensemble Archive” by elekhlekha is a browser-based communal sonic experience and an experimental auditory archive of Southeast Asian sound cultures, rooted in alternative collaboration and agency-sharing practices.

Now on view in “Technologies of Relation,” Roopa Vasudevan’s “Requiem for the Early Internet” invites visitors to reconsider their relationship with technology in today’s digital landscape. The installation features eight commemorative plaques dedicated to websites and platforms from the 1990s and 2000s, each highlighting the positive memories and social significance they once held. Through this lens of nostalgia, Vasudevan reflects on a time when engagement with digital technology felt more intentional, prompting visitors to consider how their engagement with technology has evolved. 📸: Kaelan Burkett

The artists featured in "Technologies of Relation" examine the current state of technology, considering how we can rethink our relationships to our devices, to computing, and to artificial intelligence, while bringing increased ethics and agency into the digital landscape. Join fellow museum members, MASS MoCA curators, friends from the community, and artists on February 21 for a conversation moderated by Susan Cross, MASS MoCA Director of Curatorial Affairs, and join us for the opening celebration afterwards as we celebrate new exhibitions in The Robert W. Wilson Building (Building 6).

This year I got grayer (although not by much), got run into the ground and lifted into the air, and felt equally the despair of living in this country in 2025 and the hope of what might emerge from the fog. I turned 41. I signed a book contract. I taught some amazing students, curated a multi-city and multi-country exhibition series, debuted a solo show of new work that I’m really proud of (and that contained some incredibly new and ambitious work for me), and released the longest artist’s book I’ve made to date. Next year’s a big one, for a lot of reasons. In the meantime, I hope you have a wonderful new year, and I’m so excited to see you on the other side. 1) Face for the alg, kinda (printing mishaps in exhibition prep) 2) Pattern mapping for “False Idols” 3) Impossible advice from a cyber training for work 4) “Pressure Systems” early WIP 5) “Data Fluencies” window cling in Boston at @bostoncyberarts 6) Flying over the Grand Canyon on the way to the west coast 7) A picturesque setting for a meal, in Joshua Tree the night before @microsarah and @lessismare’s wedding 8) “Data Fluencies” opening night in Vancouver; flowers from the wonderful @orgallery team 9) Wise words on a coffee shop in Lexington, KY 10) Former (/future?!?) view, June 2025 11) Studio corner, summer 2025 12) @dinosaurjr performing an absolute classic during their hometown show at @treehousebrewco, July 2025 13) Baby goats at @carrsciderhouse 14) On the road during my first visit back to Cleveland since 2018, August 2025 15) Flashing lights through (a very unpolished) “False Idols” during install at @space538 16) Outside of @pickwickindependentpress 17) My aloe (gifted by @joannaceramic in 2023!) having babies 18) Literally the only photo I have somehow of @freeman_christina and @brianggeorge’s wedding 19) Amsterdam, December 2025 20) Packing up work to go to @massmoca for the exhibition “Technologies of Relation” (opening Feb 21, more soon!)
