Happy 18 Row 🩷 Gosh we love you. You are a constant source of laughter and pride. And last night as we sang happy birthday at the top of our lungs at our messy kitchen table (in the style of the overzealous 7 Brew worker who accosted you on your birthday) I remembered ALL the birthdays. ALL the cakes. All the pinatas? Hayrides?

I guess my birthday present every year has been celebrating you.

And here we are. Somehow all in a day, the ground we're standing on feels different. It's been a subtle shift, one that's been quietly turning the soil beneath us. It's like our little girl ran ahead with pig-tails and a doll and by the time we caught up, she was holding a Starbucks and car keys and made plans without us. Like every parent before us, we can't believe we're here. Nothing is different, yet everything IS.

Our baby Row is about grown. The sweet little stem we've adored and protected and watered (and sometimes over watered -- sorry kiddo) is unfurling, and it's her season now. To sit beneath the rays of her Creator and bask in His goodness and light. To bloom and BECOME. We did what we could to cultivate the ground. We've about killed this lil gem many times I'm sure. We've screwed it up and prayed and asked the best gardeners we know how to do better.

If you don't know her, like really know her, I wish you could. Row is incredibly kind and loyal, and has a special peace that we can't help but be drawn to. Her bedroom is a secret haven -- one we all sneak into in this house on the regular. Even when she's not home, it's somehow like balm to the soul. I don't know how she does it, but we're on house 3, and every room of hers becomes the same safe place.

Row is this creative, smart, hard working kid, and the funny thing is that she has absolutely no idea how far she could really go. She's barely allowed her light to shine or even tried. But she's on the cusp of her tomorrow, and it's been a joy to walk alongside and witness it all.

Love you kiddo. 18 trips around the sun for you. 49 for myself, and I'm still not there yet. Take your time. We're all figuring it out together ❤️
