though my birthday has come and gone in almost a months time i wanted to reflect on it. birthdays are a day meant to celebrate life, with our people, our memories, the versions of us that got us here. the families we’ve built, the friendships that stayed, and the love that continues to grow.

for some, it’s pure excitement. for others, it’s a little heavier.

i’ve always loved going all out for the people closest to me. but when it came to my own birthday, it felt different. a little more quiet. a little more reflective.

your emotions feel heightened. people ask what your plans are, what you want to do, how you want to celebrate. and sometimes you don’t even know how to answer that.

birthdays aren’t just about celebrating, they’re about taking it all in. what’s changed, what’s stayed the same, what you’ve gained, and even what you’ve lost along the way.

in the middle of all that, i feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude. not everyone gets to feel supported, seen, and genuinely cared for. i don’t overlook how rare that is. the people in my life have shown up for me in ways i’ll never be able to fully put into words, and that’s something i carry with me every single day.

maybe it’s fitting stepping into the year of the horse. a season of movement, growth, and trusting where life will pull me next.

this year, for me, i’m choosing to just be present. to appreciate where i am, who i have, and everything that’s led me to who i am.

to growing, learning, and becoming, one year at a time.

with love, tanner
