My EDC for today

Last week, I started a tidbit of a water temperature project with you on a small body of water, and I said I’d come back a week later to see what changed. Well, here we are!
We’ve had a couple of hot days, including one with a 109° heat index, followed by cooler weather and some cold rain. Today, it’s just 53°, windy, and downright chilly!
So, what happened? The average water temperature has dropped only about 2 degrees over the past week. Not surprising considering those hot days, but I believe the rain yesterday and cold rain today may have had the biggest impact on the water temperature. It’s all part of learning how weather and atmospheric conditions affect our water, sometimes quickly and sometimes much more slowly.
This is something I study and I do for myself, and I’m sharing just a few tidbits along the way. I use projects like this to better understand seasonal patterns, water conditions, and ultimately, fish behavior. There’s a lot more to it, but I’ll spare you all the details unless you want them! Lmk! 😂
I’ll be doing more projects like this with you, including looking at water clarity and another important factor that was talked about a LOT back in the ’80s and ’90s, especially when fishing shallow water. Today, you hardly hear anything about it. Any guesses what it might be? 🤔 Stay tuned!

During the video, I also show you a little something from @roxon.usa : a quality stainless steel utensil setup with a spoon, fork, and knife all in one compact kit. Perfect for keeping in the boat, kayak, Project Kodiak, or camping gear so you always have utensils handy when you need them. That sharp knife is a nice bonus, too!

I’ll share more about this super piece in the near future, but I had to give you a quick look because it’s just that COOL!

Well, the rain is starting to pick up, so I’m climbing into Project Kodiak before I get my butt any wetter than it already is. 😂

Thanks for watching, y’all! Have a good one, and keep learning something new every time you hit the water!
