Mötley Crüe, Long Beach!
After Tesla opened the show and fired up the crowd, it was time for Mötley Crüe to take the stage at the new amphitheater in Long Beach, and what a night!
We were in Section 104, Row 7, Seats 7 & 8. Looking at the seating chart, I figured we would be seven rows back and directly behind the pit. Well, it turns out Row 7 is actually the FRONT ROW! Needless to say, we ended up with an incredible, up-close view of the show.
We've seen Mötley Crüe three times before, and this show definitely did not disappoint. Nikki, Tommy, Vince, and John 5 put together a brilliant show from beginning to end. Hopefully, sometime in the future they'll mix in a few smaller, more intimate shows at some of the legendary Hollywood clubs. Seeing Mötley Crüe at the Whisky a GoGo would be pretty cool!
We also stayed aboard the Queen Mary, which made the whole experience even better. From our room, it was only about a five-minute walk to the show. When the concert was over, instead of fighting traffic and trying to get out of Long Beach with thousands of other people, we simply walked back to the hotel bar for some late-night drinks and ended up meeting some new friends along the way.
Front-row seats, Tesla, Mötley Crüe, the Queen Mary, and a few late-night drinks with new friends. That's a great Saturday night!
And the rock-and-roll weekends aren't over yet. We'll see you Friday night at the Iron Maiden show! They're playing at BMO Stadium, another venue we haven't been to before, so we're looking forward to checking it out and seeing how it compares. William

Tesla — Long Beach!
Last night at the Mötley Crüe show in Long Beach, Tesla was also on the bill, and they put on a great set!
We had never seen Tesla live before, and I was really impressed. Jeff Keith’s voice was spot-on, and the sound throughout their entire set was incredibly clear. They sounded every bit as good live as you would hope.
Even if you’ve never seen Tesla in concert, it’s hard not to recognize songs like “Signs” and “Modern Day Cowboy.” Hearing those songs live definitely brought back some memories.
I’m really glad we finally had the opportunity to see these guys perform. Great band, great sound, and a perfect way to start the night before Mötley Crüe.
Hopefully, Tesla makes it back to another L.A.-area venue soon. We’ll definitely be there! William

Our Viking Western Mediterranean adventure began in the beautiful hills of Tuscany, Italy, where we stayed at the small but wonderful Hotel Belvedere di San Leonino.
It was there that we met 10 other couples who were also part of Viking’s pre-cruise extension. Twenty amazing people who, in a remarkably short time, went from complete strangers to instant friends. Looking back, the friendships we made became one of the best parts of the entire trip.
From our little hotel in the Tuscan countryside, we explored Florence, where Rosemary even got to participate in a little fashion show! We visited charming small towns, beautiful churches, historic sites and, of course, some wonderful Tuscan wineries.
From San Leonino, we traveled to the port of Civitavecchia, where we boarded the Viking Vesta, a beautiful new ship. Our stateroom was fantastic, with a wraparound balcony extending from the center stern around to the port side. The views throughout the cruise were incredible.
Traveler’s tip: Before choosing your cabin, take a look at the direction your ship will be sailing in and the ports you’ll be visiting. Choosing port or starboard strategically can sometimes give you more views of the coastline instead of looking primarily out to sea.
From Civitavecchia, our Western Mediterranean journey took us to Livorno, Italy; Monte Carlo, Monaco; Marseille and Sète, France; and finally, Barcelona, Spain, where we extended our vacation for another four days.
This was our second trip with Viking, and once again, the experience was exceptional. The ship’s accommodations, food, destinations and especially the level of service make it easy to understand why Viking is so highly rated. But as beautiful as Tuscany, the Mediterranean and all these destinations were, some of our favorite memories will be of the people we met along the way. Great places make for great vacations. Great people make them unforgettable. I’m positive this won’t be our last Viking adventure. In fact, I have a feeling there will be many more. William

It was a hot one in Riverside as the La Verne San Dimas Knights U6 football team took on the Jurupa Valley Steelers!

A big thank-you to all the coaches and referees for giving their time and helping guide these future Friday Night Lights stars.

The Knights came away with the victory after a great team effort. These young players battled hard from start to finish, and did I mention it was HOT!

Great job, Knights! GO GO Kaiden
