POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

THIS WEEK IN NORTH ACTON SQUARE

This week’s programme brings together film, music and family activities across seven days — all free to attend.

We’re particularly thrilled to be presenting Little Pyongyang (2018), directed by Roxy Rezvany, ahead of Manufactory Festival, which takes place this Friday 11 and Saturday 12 September.

The film follows a young North Korean woman living in London as she reflects on her family, identity and the experience of growing up between cultures. Through intimate conversations and personal memories, Little Pyongyang offers a thoughtful and moving portrait of belonging, displacement and home.

The film will be screening this Thursday at 6.30pm. Join us in North Acton Square for the screening — everyone is welcome, and no booking is required.

Honouring the Middle Eastern stories we’ve been proud to support 🎬

Across film and theatre, these projects amplify voices, histories and lived experiences that deserve to be heard.

We’ve had the privilege of working across multiple editions of the London Palestine Film Festival over the years. Most recently, we supported the opening night premiere of The Voice of Hind Rajab at the Barbican. One of the most critically acclaimed films of the year, the screening opened to a full house and concluded with a powerful standing ovation. We led a busy press run and supported a compelling Q&A with director Kaouther Ben Hania and cast, moderated by Khalid Abdalla.

In previous years at LPFF, we also worked on Tomorrow’s Freedom, a deeply intimate documentary following the family of imprisoned Palestinian political leader Marwan Barghouthi, offering a raw and transformative look at the Israel–Palestine conflict.

We additionally supported A Grain of Sand, originally commissioned by the London Palestine Film Festival and now presented by Good Chance. Written and directed by Elias Matar and performed by Sarah Agha, the poetic one-woman show is adapted from A Million Kites, with all proceeds supporting aid organisations helping children in Gaza.

Beyond LPFF, we were proud to work with Lionsgate on The Seed of the Sacred Fig, directed by Mohammad Rasoulof. Premiering at Cannes and now BAFTA, Golden Globe and Academy Award nominated, the film blends fiction with real protest footage from Iran’s 2022–23 demonstrations. We hosted a special London screening and panel with the director.

We also supported Netflix’s The Swimmers, directed by Sally El Hosaini, telling the extraordinary true story of Yusra and Sara Mardini.

Grateful to help bring these important stories to audiences worldwide.

SUMMER SHORTS // Settle in for a warm summer night at 4A filled with big feelings and a touch of magic 🌴✨

Come hang with us on Friday 12 December at 4A for a summer screening of five short films.

This curated program, presented by @4a_aus and @platformasia, brings together work by Australian and UK based filmmakers from the Asian diaspora, including River Yuhao Cao 曹宇豪 (UK) (@riverrcao), Allison Chhorn (AUS) (@ac_aota), Elizabeth Gabrielle Lee (UK/SGP) (@elizabethgabriellelee), Roxy Rezvany (UK) (@roxyrezvany) and Grace Tan (AUS) (@graceytt).

These films drift gently between the real and the surreal. You will see Singapore’s last pockets of nature and moments of technological spectacle, captured in ways that feel dreamy and slightly unsettling at the same time. You will follow a teenager moving from East Jerusalem to the Dead Sea as he searches for connection in a world that keeps shifting around him. You will spend time with a Cambodian grandmother as she moves through her day guided by sound and touch. You will step into a small town in Southern China shaped by ritual, memory and the lingering presence of childhood. And you will drift into a sunlit afternoon in Izamal where two friends imagine what their futures could look like.

Mark your calendars and join us for an unforgettable summer evening at 4A ✨
