Congratulations to Lubaina Himid on her exhibition Predicting History: Testing Translation opening at the British Pavilion for La Biennale di Venezia.

Singer-stitched, soft cloth-bound exhibition catalogue ‘Site of Something’ for Glenn Brown and Mathew Weir at Freud Museum London.

The design draws on ‘Totem and Taboo’ (1913) by Sigmund Freud, originally published in Vienna by Hugo Heller.

Further references originate from the red and green velvet of Freud’s study, the infamous couch, and his collection of Greek sculpture and archaeological artefacts.

Inspiration includes a book cover by Stefan Zweig (Freud, Vydal J. Przeworski, Warsaw, 1933), and, not least, his green wool coat.

The blue pages in the book echo the Smythson visitors’ book, where Freud recorded his guests, displayed in a glass case, alongside his umbrella, glasses, boots, and coat.

As part of my solo show ‘Ile Ọkàn’ (House of the Soul) I have written a book ✨

It is not a catalogue that accompanies the exhibition, but rather a whole universe in and of itself.

Reflections on my making, the inspiration behind the works, stories from my travels last year, poetry and a selection of writings by others that perfectly encapsulated the ideas and feelings behind my writing.

With beautiful photos both by @christiancassiel and myself, the book has been designed by the one and only @samarmaakaroun and her team at @pentagramdesign

Sequences, the third project from Self Titled, continues the imprint’s belief in the book as a proposition in itself, not merely a container for imagery. Form and content unfold in parallel.

Each material choice reflects Noda’s central themes of transience and attention. Paper stocks shift—glossy, satin, matte—modulating how each image is encountered. Folded and trimmed pages break the flow deliberately. In one sequence, black-and-white photographs are rendered in metallic silver, turning memory into mirage, a gesture that extends the artist’s meditation on what slips just out of reach.

NOUR is a poetry publication on ceremony, made by WePresent in collaboration with @mustafathepoet. It began with conversations and voice notes between Mustafa and I about what his dream book would look like.

Soon a very special publication began to grow, including a conversation with Mustafa’s hero George Saunders, a photo series on prayer by @yescene, a collection of images of Turkish girls by @sabakhayr, a photo essay of Mustafa on his annual journey to Mecca by @yescene, and a collection of poems by Mustafa’s closest friends and collaborators:

The special edition of Sequences by @yuichironoda extends the book’s quiet insistence on form, structure, and tactility. Its bespoke presentation box adopts the same 2 × 2 grid to form a novel yet familiar closure that echoes the book’s internal logic. This continuity reinforces the visual rhythm and sequencing at the heart of the project.

The book is bound in a tonal silver cover and each edition includes a C-type print, signed and numbered by the artist.

Published on the occasion of the solo exhibition Victor Man, on view at Gladstone Gallery, New York, spring 2024.

The works are presented without accompanying text, allowing them to exist on their own terms. Captions float on islands of blue paper, creating a rhythm of pauses and movement throughout the book. This structure mirrors the atmospheric, almost nocturnal quality of Man’s paintings, reinforcing their sense of ambiguity and contemplation.

The publication resists interpretation, instead offering a space for the viewer to engage with the work in its own silence.

The catalogue includes a passage from E. M. Cioran’s The Second-Hand Thinker: Tribulations of an Alien (1949) and an afterword by Barbara Gladstone.
