Absolutely LOVE this masterpiece!!!🙌🙌🙌✨️✨️✨️
Fusion of classical ballet, hip-hop, electronic music & digital art. Tchaikovsky orchestral scene transforming into techno landscapes, painting a modern picture.🖌🎨🎶🙌👌
Everything I love; Ballet, Dance, Music genres, Science & Art.💫 #STEAM
Pushing boundaries, collaboration & symbiosis!🎉
Particularly poignant as my daughter has previously danced the role of the cygnet. ☺️🦢🩰#growthmindset

"Centenary"
Painting in honour of the Royal Ballet School celebrating their 100th anniversary! I've had the privilege to visit that historic building, it truly leaves you in awe of human creativity and dedication.
Inspired by their motto "Strength And Grace", my intention was to show the true athleticism of ballet combined with its elegance and dedication to detail. I based the dancer off Fabrizzio Ulloa - recent alumni of the school. His form is impeccable and has this dream like quality which pairs wonderfully with watercolour paints. Congratulations on crossing the bridge of aspiration and joining the Royal Ballet!
My goal was to achieve the quality and texture of an old oil painting while tramscending the theme into modernity through digital tools (much like the school who has always been evolving over the past 100 years).
The colour scheme is based on the play of lights, warm and cold colours of the dance studios inside the Royal Ballet House as seen on the reference photo.
The golden swirls are made with true metallic brushes, creating a nice, moving shimmer of reflection. Sadly this effect is frozen still on a mere picture but I hope its elegance is not lost.

Here's to the best ballet school in the world and to the next 100 years!

Celebrating a living legend! ❤️✨

Last night’s premiere of Natalia Makarova’s magnificent staging of Paquita by @abtofficial American Ballet Theatre was a beautiful celebration of a work that has captivated audiences for 30 years. Her extraordinary artistry, devotion to classical ballet, and attention to every detail continue to inspire generations of dancers and audiences alike. 🩰

A cherished friend and longtime supporter of YAGP, Madame Makarova was honored at our 2012 “Ballerina Assoluta” Gala, part of the “Legends in Dance” series, celebrating her remarkable career and lasting contributions to ballet.

In 2015, she furthered her commitment to the next generation by establishing the Natalia Makarova Award for Artistry at the YAGP Finals, recognizing exceptional young dancers and encouraging the expressive depth and individuality that have defined her own extraordinary career.

We are deeply grateful for her generosity, inspiration, and enduring dedication to the future of dance. What a privilege to celebrate her remarkable legacy! ❤️👏

‼️SWIPE to see some of the talented recipients of the Natalia Makarova Award from over the years at YAGP.‼️

One day of work left tomorrow until the half term break. I spend a lot of time talking to my students about setting goals, being able to reflect on their progress and celebrate their achievements. How often do we as adults actually give ourselves credit though? Probably not often enough for most of us, life is always so busy and as soon as something is ticked off we’re on to the next thing. So tonight I’m celebrating another successful half term in the studio @belle.etoile.dance , feeling so glad I went with my instincts and cut competitions out of our schedule this term. We all needed that. I’ve loved getting to know my classes at @danceboxstudios and being part of an amazing college. Loved seeing Annabelle start @royalballetschool JAs and @belladanzascholars and loved getting to take some classes for scholars. This term has been amazing but it hasn’t all been easy, I’m so ready for a break. Hopefully the perfect timing to meet my new baby niece very soon when she decides to make her way into this world with us any day now. Feeling very lucky! ✨
