Earlier today I learned Matt Howarth passed away.
2 years ago I made this pinup for my friend Eli who was publishing Howarth’s THE TERMITE MOUND for the first time since it was made in the early 90’s. This pinup remains one of my personal favorite pieces. I was supremely inspired after reading the 3 issue masterpiece.

I mainly learned about Howarth and his work through Eli and @cosmiclionproductions, but it turned out I had read a series he made called STAR CROSSED when I was still a kid. I believe he was on the reclusive side and guarded his work carefully, but Eli was able to get to know him and build a trusting relationship. Thankfully Matt was willing to allow many of his unpublished works to finally be published and the world is better off for it.

I’m sending love to Matt’s family and many thanks to Eli for bringing Howarth’s work to us. Check out Eli’s post at @cosmiclion to learn more about this man who may have been reclusive, but managed to live a legendary art life.

RIP Matt Howarth and long live his comics and art.
@cosmiclionproductions will continue to keep his legacy alive and I will too!

Since September 2023, I’ve been wanting to do an tribute for Brandon Graham (@royalbrandon ) and then I received one of the greatest honors of my life: Brandon started following me on Instagram, yes, him! Was awesome

And so, after almost three years, this summer I had the honor of creating my tribute to “Multiple Warheads” (a 2018 comic book, written and created by him, from Image Comics). I drew all the characters, carefully examining the pages and focusing on the colors. This is the final

Thank you, Brandon, for giving me this memorable experience. Thank you for everything! Really!

August 3rd came a little early!

I said something really poignant last night about being surrounded by people who represent the parts of myself and who make me want to be my best self.

The Las Vegas edition of my 40th birthday was so dang special. I knew I wanted to throw a nice shindig, but @garrettmsanders classed it up with the balloon letters, decor, and cake. @rii_chaard brought luxury and opulence taking pics & building us a photo area! And @nateafisher served full Martha Stewart by taking care of the house guests with special welcome bags and so many little touches to ensure we had a special, fabulous weekend.

Sina G turning 40 is gonna be a good thing ❤️❤️
