I created this dress myself as a reflection of what I believe creativity can achieve: bringing together ideas, culture and purpose to create positive, creative climate action.

Growing up, creativity taught me to look at the world differently — to stay curious, understand different perspectives and find new ways to connect with others. That became the foundation of my passion and mission, where I use creativity as a positive approach to climate action.

Through my mission, I focus on SDGs 4, 7, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15, seeing them not as separate challenges, but as interconnected opportunities to build a more sustainable and inclusive future.

What I hope to bring to Miss International 2026 is a different way of communicating climate action and the Sustainable Development Goals: rooted in creativity and positivity rather than fear, and in possibility rather than perfection.

I will continue to be an ambassador of positivity, empowerment and peace by using my mission as a bridge: creating genuine connections, encouraging others to see their own potential to make a difference, and turning even the smallest ideas into positive, attainable change. 🇳🇱🇯🇵🤍

A powerful reminder that something as simple as turning on a tap is still a privilege for millions. 💧

Grateful to have visited the @wateraidnl exhibition at Paleis Soestdijk, sharing the stories, strength and resilience of women facing the realities of water scarcity and climate change.

Clean water should never be a privilege. It is a basic human right. 🤍🌍

There is a Japanese concept I keep coming back to: 間 (ma) — the meaningful space between things. To me, it represents the connections that give our actions meaning: between people and nature, tradition and innovation, ideas and impact.

It is also what I see represented in the Netherlands. A small country continuously challenged by water, yet one that has turned these challenges into innovation: from reclaiming land from the sea to harnessing wind and developing ways to live harmoniously alongside water and nature 🇳🇱

Through my mission I stand for creative climate action, mainly focusing on SDGs 4, 7, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 — interconnected goals that form a positive cycle, inspiring people to turn creativity into positive climate impact.

Ultimately, my message is simple: sustainability should not be something we fear. It should be something we feel inspired to be part of.

I am beyond excited to carry that message with me to Japan as Miss International Netherlands, representing a country built on ingenuity, and a generation with the creativity to positively shape the world for those who come next 🇳🇱🇯🇵🌎

In a world of constant consumption, choosing natural, durable materials is one way of being more responsible with the usage of our resources, as outlined in SDG 12.

My mission aims to make those choices feel inspiring rather than restrictive, and recognising that sustainability can be rooted in creativity and our connection with the world around us.

Meaningful change begins when we stop only asking what we can take from the world, and start considering what we can give back, by choosing to value, preserve, and pass on 🤍

One dress. Two generations. ❤️

More than twenty years ago, this dress was worn by my aunt on one of the most meaningful days of her life. And now, I have the privilege of giving it a new life.

To me, this is what sustainable fashion and use of resources looks like. Not only buying less, but valuing what we already have more.

When we care for what already exists, we reduce waste, honour craftsmanship, and prove that the choices we make every day help shape a more thoughtful future.

That is exactly what my project Climate Creatives stands for: discovering new value in what already exists, and proving that small, creative choices inspire true lasting change.
