Craving a little mountain staycation? 🏔️✨ So were we.

I love to be in the mountains but I also love to have a nice place to come back to after a full day being outside. The @royalgorgecabins were some of the nicest cabins I’ve stayed in.

They were updated, warm and cozy and I particularly loved the shower floor. No spoilers you’ll have to go and see for yourself! Plus the cabins were close to everything, and all the outdoor activities you could imagine.

Next time you’re headed to the mountains think about treating yourself to a little stay at The Royal Gorge Cabins🤍

Slow travel is an invitation to WAKE UP. ☀️ We often subconsciously “go through the motions” as we move through everyday life.

Did you know that when we go someplace new place our brain processes the experience differently? Our perception of time literally slows down. We WAKE UP to the world around us.

When we visited Echo Canyon near Colorado Springs, I smiled when I saw our welcome sign at Royal Gorge Cabins. What a lovely invitation. 🌅

Life will always be complicated. Don’t wait for things to get easier, simpler, better. Plan that next trip or embrace the joy of local travel and simple everyday adventures. Learn ways to travel within your means now… otherwise, you’ll run out of time.

We loved rafting in Cañon City, but if a trip isn’t in your budget find new local park, a new route to work, a new walking path in your neighborhood.

You don’t have to go far to WAKE UP. We can’t often choose our circumstances, but we can still find simple ways to create adventure in our everyday lives.

What We Loved 💛 ↓

🌄 The beautiful mountain view and the way the light played on the cabins at dawn (see pic).

🏛️ The architecture is a unique mix of regional history mixed with modern comforts. For example, the fireplace mantel in our cabinet was made from “rustic wood was sourced from the original planks of the historic Royal Gorge Bridge. The coat racks are art in themselves, with hooks repurposed from rail spikes found along the Royal Gorge Route line dating back to the 1800’s.” So many amazing & beautiful details.

BTW, did you see the outdoor fireplace?!? [swoon]

🌿 The cabins (and 8-Mile Bar & Grill across the street owned by the same family) both do any amazing job of blending nature in — huge open windows, outdoor fireplaces, patios, etc.

🛶 If you’re feeling adventurous, world-class white water and gentle family floats are the specialty of folks at Echo Canyon River Expeditions, located just across the road from the cabins!

📍Tunnel Drive is a super easy, approximately 2-mile trail. It’s stroller and dog-friendly, located about 1 mile from downtown Cañon City. Although it resembles a road, it’s closed to vehicles.

Don’t miss out on this trail when you’re in the area.

Royal Gorge Cabins are beautiful lodging in a scenic setting. You can choose from a luxury two bedroom cabin or a modern and cozy glamping tent. @royalgorgecabins are located in Cañon City, Colorado, the perfect town for anyone looking for adventure.

Our family visited earlier this year and loved our stay. The cabin had two large bedrooms and bathrooms, including a rain shower. There is also a kitchen area, cozy fireplace, outdoor dining area, and a hammock. The sunset views from the back patio are amazing! 🌄

You can glamp in one of their glamping tents or have a relaxing stay in one of their cabins! The cabins all have their own hammock, grill, and cornhole boards! And the views are so beautiful!

Winner receives a free stay in a Single King or Double King cabin for 2 nights, good until January 31, 2025. Dates based on availability, not to exceed maximum occupancy. The only blackout dates are Labor Day weekend (8/30 through 9/1).
