I thought I’d go bespoke with the steering also, so I opted for the 14” @mountneyclassic Steering Wheel in Black & matching Boss Kit.

Which I had @royalsteeringwheels make a little thicker, before retrimming in Black Alcantara with Light Grey stitching & Centre Stripe.

To the Steering Wheel Boss I added a little something bespoke also in the shape of a 3D printed wheel centre which was done by @ipng to my design.👌🏼

Final piece of the jigsaw 🧩🔴

Finally got my steering wheel back from Jack at Royal Steering Wheels and what a difference.

The original FN2 wheel was nearly 20 years old, too thin and had that horrible fake plastic-leather look and feel. It was probably the one part of the car that was actually taking away from the driving experience.

For me, a car like the FN2 is all about sensory overload — the HKS intake screaming into VTEC, heel-and-toeing into a corner, the cold weighted aluminium gear knob as you work through the gears… everything makes you feel involved.

The steering wheel just wasn’t matching that experience.

I wanted OEM+, not something that screamed aftermarket. Alcantara, red stitching to complement the interior and a slightly thicker rim.

Jack absolutely nailed it. 👌🏻

It looks like it should have left Honda this way, but more importantly, the difference through your hands is incredible. Softer, thicker, sturdier and so much nicer to work with when you’re pushing the car down a country road.

It genuinely feels like the final connection between me and the car.

Massive thanks to Jack at Royal Steering Wheels — brilliant quality, great price and an absolute pleasure to deal with. Couldn’t recommend him enough.

I went a bit off piste with this car....

BBS E88, KWs, wheel studs, big intercooler..

Just wasn't the right direction for a car like this...

So back to near stock with help from @motechperformanceuk and their Eibach springs kit.

Now on Eibach springs, original wheels, a mild stage 1 map, Milltek, MP spoiler and the recaro cs seats

Back in action and the perfect afternoon to enjoy it.
