Roulette returns to Portal for its ninth edition with Roycin behind the decks.

Roycin has been a fixture on Mumbai’s DJ circuit for years, known for sets that move between Motown, disco and house without dwelling too long in any one lane. Expect deep cuts alongside the ones everyone knows, mixed with the kind of ease that comes from doing this for a while.

Roulette doesn’t stick to a genre brief. Every edition, one DJ gets the night and decides where it goes, and that’s kept people coming back for eight editions running.

On September 26th (Saturday)
From 10 PM onwards
At Portal, Kala Ghoda, Mumbai (@portal.mumbai)

RSVP via the link in bio.

Taurus season. Apparently I’m destined to be surrounded by stubborn bulls for life 🤭

Very, very late to the May photo dump, but some of my favourite people are Taureans, so definitely had to be posted.

And yes, ran out of tags as usual. So some of you get credits in the caption for making May extra special - @behramcama @lylacama @smitha.men @santoshmaruwada

“TALL Interceptor” - for those who know that Interceptors can do much more than just scraping around speed breakers.

This one for @roycin

See this one in Aamchi Mumbai gliding over pot holes and speed breakers.

Mumbai’s only coffee community ‘Dialed In Bombay’ has been organising great events for home brewers and enthusiasts. The latest was a community cupping at Subko’s roastery tucked away in a narrow lane of Byculla surrounded by weathered buildings.

While Newton Lewis got the ball rolling, Subko’s star roaster Shubham Ambre ran us through the the standardised sensory evaluation methods used by professionals to assess the aroma, flavor, acidity, body, and overall quality of roasted coffee beans.

We cupped 4 coffees:
- Project Yung Gun from Kerehaklu Estate
- Project Everest from Nepal’s Lelaki Estate
- 2 rare coffees from Myanmar brewed for this session, and not available in India

In all of this, a Riverdale geisha appeared, which many of us lived. I forgot to document it :(

It’s always good to try unfamiliar origins and standout lots. Big thanks to Shubham Ambre @brewmanns_ @medium.coarse, Prag Gargatte, @newtonlewis and @prithwish_patra for such a cool event.

Here’s to more cups and conversations 🤎

The crackle of vinyl, the rhythm of the week, and the vibe of SoundRise. Midweek never sounded so good.
