POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

After our premiere at the @nederlandsfilmfestival , FROST is screening at @goshort Arnhem this Sunday afternoon at @focusarnhem

FROST tells the story of Youssef, who, in an attempt to save his relationship with Ukrainian singer Olena, is torn between competing loyalties. At the Arnhem Bridge, where old and new wars collide, he is caught in the middle.

The film is based on a true story, which is told by actors to keep the real people safe. The film was made over a period of three years, in close collaboration with film students, refugees and professionals. While we were making it, the Assad regime fell, which made it possible to tell this story in the first place. Many were afraid of putting their families at risk, as the secret service monitored critical online content from people living abroad and punished their relatives in Syria. With the fall of the regime, we were able to tell a bigger story about inner freedom, which war so often disrupts, across generations.

We are very thankful to the festivals showing FROST so far and those to come. And of course to everyone who helped bring this film to life. This includes @ahmedmarcouch , the Mayor of Arnhem, for lending his voice to the film, and Caroline Frost, who, after seeing the film, allowed us to give it her family name, referring to the Bridge (Too Far) and the emotional state of Youssef. Thank you also to the whole cast and crew, and last but not least to our funders: @gemeentearnhem , @provinciegelderland , @vsbfonds.nl , @mediafondsarnhem , @gemeentenijmegen , @gemeenteamersfoort and @connect.arnhem

Want to see our film? Come meet us at @goshort Arnhem this Sunday 15:40 @focusarnhem , or follow our channel for more screenings near you. ❤️

Next week, the 2026 cohort of students from the Netherlands Film Academy will be graduating and a public screening of their films will be held in Amsterdam.

I had the pleasure of meeting these filmmakers at the Festival de Cannes, when I led a masterclass on impact producing at the Dutch Pavilion. Having seen trailers of some of their films, I can attest to the quality of their work - polished, engaging and socially engaged 💫
If you will be in the Netherlands, don't miss it!
