Had the absolute best time attending and modelling(!) for @theafricacentre at Africa Fashion Week London @afwlondon ✨

From meeting the incredible @fumidesaluvold and @queenronkeofficial 👑, to seeing breathtaking collections from such talented designers, it was an unforgettable celebration of African creativity and culture 💚

Huge thanks to @theafricacentre and @youngafricacentre for giving me the chance to be part of such an iconic event 🙌🏾. Still buzzing from the energy, colours and new connections!

My personal new year (birthday) started off on the highest high. Literal movie. I felt such incredible love.

Then it quickly went spiralling like I could never have imagined. I learnt a new depth of pain that I could never have predicted. It came crashing in. Smashed straight through my denial and stoicism. Rocked me emotionally, mentally and physically. I have no idea how I've moved through the last 3 months and I'm surprised I haven't run out of tears at this point. Pretty sure this year alone is my lifetime record but would you look at that - I'm still here!

I drew on all the love I could find to get out of the darkest hole. Grateful again for all my friends and family and for music - my forever love. My own songs literally got me through lol. I had to rediscover self love and self worth because whilst I am surrounded by the best, abundant love must also come from within. I had to learn to listen to my body. To trust my intuition. To embrace every aspect of myself. To remember my power. It's an ongoing journey but a worthwhile one.

I can't say I wouldn't change things if I could lmao I would actually avoid/rewrite certain parts at all costs but accepting reality and embracing the lessons and healing process, though difficult, is a necessary part of growth and change.

2023 I have no idea what is coming but hope is shining again and I await all the opportunities, excitement and change that lies ahead.

And Dara, my love. There truly is no one like you.
I hope when you look back, this time next year, you are proud of how you've evolved. No matter how scary, I hope you love so deeply and truly it outweighs all pain. I hope letting go of all that doesn't serve you comes easier. I hope you always choose you first. I hope you pour as much and even more into yourself as you pour into others. I hope all you deserve has made it's way to you. I hope your light never goes out because you are meant to shine so bright, in fact, you already do. I hope you always believe in you, because I do.

See you next year!

♥️♾️♥️
