Banter aside… tonight, I had to admit something to myself.
I truly love @cristiano

For the first time, I caught myself thinking about something I’ve always known would happen but never wanted to face😢the final whistle is no longer a distant sound.

The day is drawing near when I won’t be waiting for another @cristiano match, celebrating another iconic “Siuuu,” or watching him write yet another chapter on the pitch.

That thought carries a strange kind of grief🥹
Not because football will end…
But because an era will✍🏾

People often measure greatness by goals, trophies, Ballons d’Or, and broken records.
Those things matter🫰🏻

But I think true greatness is measured differently.
Greatness is when your life quietly shapes the lives of millions of people you’ll never meet.

I remember sitting beside my dad, watching Ronaldo on cable/digital satellite then. Every match felt like an event. Every highlight became homework🤔

Then I’d run outside ( No 9, Adenle Mokola Ibadan)📍
I’d gather pure water nylons, stuff them into one, tie them together, and make my own football.

The pitch didn’t matter.
The boots didn’t matter.
The conditions didn’t matter.

All that mattered was that, for those few hours, I was trying to become just a little bit like Cristiano.

The stepovers.
The snake bites.
The body feints.
The cuts (it’s called Ishakolè in my cultural yoruba language)

Omo… e still dey body.
I never became a professional footballer.

But wake me up from sleep and throw a football at me
we’ll play until nobody can remember what time it is.
Those endless hours of training never left me.
The skills became muscle memory.
They’re part of me now.
Funny enough, whenever I pull off a clean stepover or a smooth body feint, a part of my childhood smiles.

That’s influence @cristiano

Cristiano didn’t inherit his legacy❌
He built it✅

Every goal.
Every sprint.
