Our September date got rained out, but today’s weather is a much better. Join us for EARTH JAM AT SANKOFA☀️from 2-5p, a beautiful oasis on the nature trail right in Kenwood’s backyard. In partnership with @chicagoparks @fieldmuseum @bronzeville_farm @chi_brations Artists, @doriansylvain @arlene.crawford.927 @rayatstudios65 @bkedesigns Storytelling with @mamaedieteller2 Face painting, and arts and crafts including instrument making from @mobilemusicbox Plus a jam session with drums and horns. It is a privilege to be recognized alongside @rozzyroz46 Owens @bronzeville_farm Community Farmand Will Vanman. The theme of "Groundbreakers" is all about those who connect @UChicago to the community through impact and sustainability. For us, that means transforming the campus supply chain to prioritize local farmers and food entrepreneurs. By rooting the university’s food system in local soil, we are creating economic equity and feeding minds in the most literal way. RESOURCE: ART AND RESOURCEFULNESS IN BLACK CHICAGO PUBLIC SYMPOSIUM TAKES PLACE THIS FRIDAY OCTOBER 7TH! 📣🌎✨ We have a STELLAR lineup of speakers and participants ! ReSOURCE: Art and Resourcefulness in Black Chicago, is an exciting two day convening that will help shape the groundwork of research questions, thematic structures, and community connections for the “ReSOURCE” art exhibition, scheduled for 2024, here at the South Side Community Art Center. PUBLIC SYMPOSIUM, ON ZOOM FRIDAY, OCTOBER 7 10AM - 5PM The symposium will encompass virtual panel discussions with scholars, urban gardening community leaders, and artists.
