PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: Please help us welcome RVA native Rob Proutt 2027 RHP to #TeamDMVScoutBrookfield

He’s a new comer who found his way on to our squad through being pro active and reaching out. He impressed our scouting dept with his pitch mix and his ability to run it up on the gun. Proutt is still #uncommitted but not after Aug 28-30 👀

FYI goes to one of the best schools on the East Coast and is an excellent student.

Welcome Rob!

At the start, Robert Proutt was working with his hands down to the baseball, meeting the ball instead of allowing the barrel to work from behind him.

Coach Matt Coutts made a key adjustment—getting Robert to turn the bat from behind his body, giving him a better opportunity to stay on plane through the zone longer. Small mechanical changes like this can make a big difference in consistency, bat path, and quality of contact.
