As May’s Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, we’re reminded that awareness is key and yet action is what changes lives.

The Sam Aden Kindness Fund’s 2025 Community Impact Report is now live (thank you @btrain8 and @amyemoyn ), and it is filled with proof of what this community made possible in Sam’s name.

Together, in 2025 we invested more than $75,000 in youth mental health, delivered 4,373 comfort items to pediatric Mental Health Emergency Rooms at @childrenscolo , supported teens and young adults in crisis through @wearewellpower Emerson Street Programs, helped launch In Tune’s mobile music program for kids, supported school-based mental health spaces and resources through @cityyeardenver and @projecthelping and helped fuel donations through Sam’s Day of Stoke (thanks to @jimlicko @rrobinson3 @woodrowwilson @kirbykimball and the team at @gfmdenver )

Each micro grant, weighted blanket, fidget toy, ski run and act of kindness reflects the same belief: notice people, show up and be kind. Thank you for being on this journey with us.

Kind like Sam, always.

We took a little pause from posting Random Acts of Samness… but the kindness never stopped.
@jimlicko and @rrobinson3 spent a month carrying a Random Act of Samness with them from Denver to Chicago to Indy (and back home) waiting for the right moment. It finally showed up on Dec. 30, on Jim’s birthday, at a busy food hall in Frisco.

One employee. A rough night. Systems down. Frustrated customers.

And then: a quiet handoff of a $100 bill, a sticker and a reminder that kindness still exists.

Later, the employee came back with birthday cookies and said, “YOU didn’t need to do that.” To which Ramonna replied, “Well… we need to take care of each other.”

Yes. We do.

This is Random Act of Samness in full force. Just showing up, paying attention and making a hard moment a little lighter. Thanks, Jim & Ro, for carrying Sam’s kindness wherever you go.

Two days away. $14,440 raised. $20,000 goal.

Sam’s Day of Stoke & Sleep In for Sam are almost here, and because of this incredible community, we’re already more than halfway there. Truly..thank you.

This day isn’t just about skiing (or sleeping in 😉). It’s about choosing joy. It’s about pausing for mental health. It’s about showing kids and families struggling that they are not alone.

100% of every dollar goes directly to youth mental health programs across Colorado.

Not someday. Not eventually. Real impact, right now.

If you’ve been meaning to give, this is your nudge.

If you’ve already given, thank you for carrying this with us.

Take a mental health day with us — in the mountains or at home!

On Friday, January 30, we’re hosting the 3rd Annual Sam’s Day of Stoke & Sleep In for Sam—a choose-your-own-adventure kind of day (less grind, more joy) in support of youth mental health.

There are two easy ways to join in:
1) Join us on the slopes at A-Basin with friends, family, food and plenty of stoke
2) Sleep In for Sam from anywhere (no snow pants required)

Here’s the part you should know up front: 100% of every dollar donated is given away to youth mental health programs through the Sam Aden Kindness Fund, housed at the Get Grounded Foundation.

In the past two years, this community has raised (and given away) $40,000 from this event alone. This year, we’re aiming to raise $20,000 to create greater access to mental health care and moments of hope for young people and their families.

Quick PSA about the video: the legendary charcute-ski makes an appearance every year and what looks like drinks are actually kid-approved, slope-appropriate and 100% stoke-forward.

Want the full invite with all the details? DM us and we’ll send it your way.
The fundraising link is in our bio.

You don’t have to ski (or board).
You don’t have to be local.
You just have to care.

Stay kind.
Stay stoked.
