«Palestinians are your eyes, your tattoo. Palestinians are your name, your dreams, your thoughts, and your handkerchief.»

Six stories, four voices from Gaza. Palestinians are Your Eyes is a project by the Italian-Palestinian company Anqa, bringing to life a collective narrative that knows no borders.

This is not just a date on the calendar; it is an open wound in our company's history.

On that day in 2023, Abraham Saidam—a young performer with Anqa—was killed by Israeli bombardment.
We have chosen this date to honor his memory and transform grief into cultural resistance.

On and around October 15, 2026, these stories will resonate in unison during a global premiere across the world.

We want these stories to reach every corner of the globe.

Asra opens in 6 days! Have you got your tickets? Link in my bio. Interactive in nature, Asra uses puppetry to share the documented testimonies of Palestinian women, children, and men who have spent time in Israeli prisons, some for over 25 years.

We stand in solidarity with the people of Palestine. Come and join us, bear witness to these lived experiences and let us spend some time together sending strength and resilience to the people who are living through the greatest tragedy of our time.

Asra: Stories of Palestinian Prisoners is compiled and directed by Dr.Rand Hazou, and is produced by Harakat Productions and the Sumud Ensemble.

From left to right: Terry Hooper (Actor/Puppeteer), Ariana Williams (Co-Producer/Stage manager), Rand Hazou, Zoe Higgins (Actor/Puppeteer), and me - also an actor/puppeteer. This is my stage debut in Aotearoa. Too excited :)

Introducing Paul Lewis 🖤
@paullewispuppets

Paul is the brilliant puppeteer, puppet-maker and designer behind the puppet at the heart of Asra: Stories of Palestinian Prisoners directed by Dr. Rand Hazou.

Our puppet is a Bunraku-style puppet, operated by three puppeteers working together to bring her to life. It’s an intricate, physical and deeply collaborative art form and Paul’s design gives the stories another powerful way to be seen and felt.

With an impressive career spanning stage and screen, including Sweet Tooth, M3GAN, The Rule of Jenny Pen and A Minecraft Movie, we’re incredibly lucky to have Paul’s artistry at the heart of Asra. ❤️

Don’t miss the show!
