Wow! What a day @lakeforestiws! Thank you for such a welcoming, well organized event to participate in and to my husband (& all the spouses in the early morning!), friends who came by & the sweetest customers. Mad respect for all my vendors I know & love and the loveliest I met. SO. MUCH. WORK😅. Great way to move years of vintage decor “collecting” out the door but I’m sticking to my “design day job”! Stay tuned for an IG Stories sale week of 9.21. ✨

An unexpected rainy afternoon in New Orleans changed my plans—and turned into one of my favorite days of the trip.

I spent a few hours at the Williams Research Center digging into the historic colors of the Vieux Carré, followed by dinner with a wonderful new friend, Robin Schwadron.

Sometimes New Orleans has a better plan.

Applications are now open for the 2027 Lake Forest Showhouse.

Interior designers and landscape designers are invited to apply for consideration. Interiors, gardens, terraces, entry landscapes. If you shape space for a living, we would love to see your work.

A showhouse is a rare kind of experience. A real house, a real audience moving through it, and the freedom to make something people remember long after the last tour. It is also one of the most visible places a designer in this part of the country can put their name on.

Applications close October 1, 2026.

If you have questions before you apply, come ask them in person. We will have a tent at Antiques & Treasures on Sunday, September 13, in the north lot at the Lake Forest train station on Western Avenue, and it is there for exactly this. The application, the timeline, the spaces, what participating actually involves. Come find us. We will be there all day.

If you cannot make it, leave your question in the comments and we will answer it.

Presented by the Lake Forest Chapter of the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago. Every dollar raised benefits IWS Family Health, which has cared for Chicago children and families since 1911.

For everyone who's visited the shop since March, you know we've been dealing with some major road construction! 🚧 🏗

It was put off for years, but the water lines, sewer pipes and underground electric all needed to be replaced. The Village and their contractors have worked hard to make it possible for our businesses to stay open, and while somes days have been harder than others we've made it work!

Fast forward to today and we can finally see the finish line. Brick streets, paver sidewalks, new streetlights, benches and trees will all be added over the next 2 months. It's going to be amazing!

Thanks for your patience! Hope to see you in the shop (and Lounge) soon!

Thank you to @space_519 for hosting us at the Merchandise Mart earlier this week. It was a small group, a great room, and a very fun secret to finally let go of.

Our 2027 Showhouse President, Kate, shared the first look at next year’s home. It’s called Insley House, and it was built in the 1890s.

That’s all we’re saying for now, but there’s a lot more coming.

If you’re a designer or landscape designer who wants to be part of the 2027 Showhouse, applications are open. And if you want to hear about tickets first, or you’re curious about sponsoring, you can sign up for that in the same place. Link in bio.

Kicking our season off with a fun one! @hephzibahhome backpack interviews. We have been proudly providing the kids at Hephzibah their school supplies for quite a few years. It's a joy to see how excited they are to start school and recieve a backpack they got to be a part of selecting.
