“a vague image of a family portrait” - an experimental mixed media project exploring the themes of family, relationships and home. these photomontages question heritage, what home is and what family means to us as individuals. these images were all taken by me in a self portrait style, using a tripod and a bluetooth app on my phone to control all camera settings as well as capturing footage and stills.

thank you to @furmaan.ahmed and @jpearsonhowes for helping me sculpt my ideas and realising my potential. thank you to my amazing neighbours for allowing us to use your home to create these visuals in, your hospitality and kindness to the team is treasured 🔆🔆

“a vague image of a family portrait” - an experimental mixed media animation exploring the themes of family, relationships and home. this film questions heritage, what home is and what family means to us as individuals. i created this film entirely by hand, illustrating on each frame and compiling it together to make a surreal sense of nostalgia.

For the last year, I’ve been working hard towards having @southasianheritagemonth_uk recognised and celebrated at @unioftheartslondon - it’s been a year of securing funding, endless emails and hours of planning at @artssulondon

I’m so proud to say that I’ve been able to curate not one but two exhibitions at the @lethabygallery in Central Saint Martins and the @lcclondon windows in London College of Communication.

These will also be linked into a few smaller events at the start of term, and will be continued by @uallibraries in LCC.

We also had a big celebration event with the exhibiting artists, UAL students & staff, and external guests, where I hosted a panel conversation with some of the artists and had the chance to meet others at UAL from South Asian backgrounds and celebrate South Asian Heritage Month together.

I can’t believe that it’s been over a week now since we had our amazing event celebrating @southasianheritagemonth_uk 💖 it was incredible to have all our amazing artists come along and talk about their work, and to connect with so many students and staff at UAL (and external guests!) who had all come together for this.
