This was our final trekking day. Starting the day from Namche Bazaar, we hiked all the way back down to Lukla where we started our trekking adventure from. It rained most of the day. As we left Namche Bazaar, we each collected 2KG of recycling to carry back down the mountain. When we finally arrived back in Lukla, we shared a final meal and a dance with our lovely porters and guides.

Everest Base Camp. So poud we made it! Especially proud to have achieved this raising money for @alzheimersresearchuk. Huge thank you to @intrepidtravel for keeping us safe! We had perfect weather at the base camp followed by snow, rain and hail on our way back to Lukla, feeling very lucky.

EBC Day 10 pt1 - At 4am we had an optional hike. Only 4 people from the group of 14 felt well enough to attempt the Kala Pattar trek to 5644m to see the sunrise view of Everest - Peter, Ruby, Patrick and Neil trekked at -19c in almost pitch black whilst Illias, Naomi and the rest of the group slept. Our stomaches were churning from the altitude gaining 500m in a short distance across the ice and snow. Our pace slowed right down. We eventually saw the incredible view of the Himalayan mountains, including Everest. We witnessed an avalanche and the sun rise across the valley. Returning back down just as everyone else was getting up for breakfast.
