After more than two years of construction, the station now features three new elevators connecting the street, mezzanine and platforms for the 2, 3, 4 and 5 lines.

The $106 million overhaul modernized one of NYC’s oldest subway stations — and Brooklyn’s first underground station — while preserving its original character.

There’s nothing like the Drawing Room Biennial. On the surface, it’s a fundraiser. 300 works on paper, available for bidding, with every work starting at £400.
But it’s more than that. You look at the list of contributors, and you realise that the exceptional generosity is because they all have faith in what this institution does.
And then… You look at what this bringing together achieves on a curatorial level. You walk through the display set out in alphabetical order and there are no hierarchies. Cumulatively, it tells you so much about what drawing does and what it could be.
If you had to go to one exhibition to understand where art’s priorities and concerns are located today, then it’s the Drawing Room Biennial.
Bidding is now open until 9pm on 23rd June this week.
My selection is a bit cropped here and there, and barely scratches the surface of what you’ll discover:

Now on view: "May Your Road Be Light and Fun," by ruby onyinyechi amanze at Borough Hall station, in Brooklyn. Extending across the 110-foot length of the passageway connecting the 2, 3, and 4, 5 subway lines, the work transforms the corridor into an immersive environment shaped by rhythm, imagination, and visual storytelling. Drawing from amanze’s large works on paper, the mosaic explores themes of embodiment, freedom, and spatial choreography through hybrid figures, architectural references, and dreamlike scenes that animate the walls with a sense of movement and play. Incorporating elements inspired by the station’s historic architecture, the installation creates a dialogue between the site’s past and the artist’s expansive fictional universe.
