Bayte Candlelit Supper at Petersham House

An intimate candlelit supper hosted within the private home of Petersham.
Join us for an evening of @bayte_stleonards seasonal cooking, thoughtfully prepared and served by candlelight in a setting rarely opened to guests.

Taking place across three evenings, this special supper offers a slower, more atmospheric way to experience Bayte’s food — generous, seasonal and deeply rooted in flavour.

Dates: 26th, 27th & 28th February
Time: 7pm – 10.30pm

Booking is available via our website on the What’s On page.

My little sister @rubyboglione & @silvypilkington have opened a new restaurant @bayte_stleonards

The food is delicious, beautifully plated, created with wonderful farm to table produce. Catch the train down from london and walk 3 mins to the picturesque street.

SUDI SCOFFS The neo-bistro comes to #stleonards with the talk of the town opening @bayte_stleonards: it’s hip, edgy, the deceptively simple bistro food takes ingredients back to their raw essence & layers them with unusual, even provocative texture & flavour that thrill & surprise. Standout dish is brill with white beans & courgettes & an intriguing bitter-sweet exceptional depth of flavour to its vegetable especially celery infused depth. It turns out to be a mix of clam juice & verjuice (if you’ve been to cult Paris restaurant @clamato there is that resonance). The 28 year old head chef working with crazy focus at the open kitchen is @joshuaadickinson hot from @chateaubriand_dauphin in Paris (& @kittyfishers in London); a fan of the great @alain_passard & a smoking hot talent. Clever @silvypilkington @rubyboglione yes @petershamnurseries scion for luring him to this most lovely, creative, boho seaside town. The former antiques shop with a beautiful frontage & bar is more basic than lavish & needs some softer textiles for better acoustics to hear your dining companions: mine being friends @helenmangham & @stephenmangham recently moved to St Lenny. Not every dish sings (my summer minestrone, an interesting pink with red cabbage & onions was full of lentil goodness though lacked the pep of freshness of the broad beans & peas I’d been hoping for) A and small blip. Yet, every other dish was utterly delicious from the rustic hunks of bread & delectable butter with a hint of smokiness & a saucer of Cantabrian anchovies to utterly moreish balls of molten Parmigiano Reggiano rolled in tapioca & crisp fried, sublime, delicate potato & sorrel agnolotti in broth I could eat every day,to a generous hunk of skate with brown butter & plentiful crisp capers plus almost scorched roasted potato doused in creme fraiche. For dessert we shared unassailable vanilla ice cream with lashings of chocolate sauce. The wine list has nothing under £35 a little steep: our Della Torre Verdicchio nudging £40 was outstanding. It’s very early days, they’ve been open two weeks, go. #foodie #stleonards #new restaurant #gastronomy #bayte_st
