POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We were born from a simple belief: great shows aren’t only for big cities.

Scene: LARGE MIRAGE was the second chapter of our series, bringing Large Mirage to Noosa.

Warm analog tones meet a contemporary edge as local and interstate artists come together for a night where music and visual worlds collide. A shared, immersive experience designed to be felt as much as heard 🪩

There’s so many powerful voices out there.

Mainstream media is usually so surrounded of frivolisism.
Mainstream in the 60’ couldn’t be more challenging than being a black woman causing goosebumps in masses.

Thank you Queen for inspiring so much.

Blessed of being part of such a moving project @__noskips

These are some stills and film excerpts from the screening of “Solastalgia”, a dance film we made with @_________micaela and @chuchobruno , supported by the Queensland Government and @noosa_council

The concept came from Mica: “Solastalgia, the emotional experience of living in a world that no longer feels familiar”

She began building the choreography in the same room, at the same time, as Chucho was writing the music. I joined some of those sessions to think through camera angles and ideas.

Once the music and movement had shape, Mica and I sat down and mapped out the scenes and transitions. We shot the whole thing in three hours with fixed lights at @thejnoosa in Noosa.

Big thanks to @rubybridgetdonohoe for hosting the screening and supporting us through the process.

My work on this: part of the storyboard, camera, montage and colour.

SITE RESIDENCY SHOWING | @_________micaela
Wed 29 July | 6pm | Free RSVP 🔗 in bio

A simple but urgent question: What happens when home no longer feels like home?

Join us for the culmination of Micaela Valerio’s SITE Residency with the premiere screening of Solastalgia- a new interdisciplinary dance film created alongside composer Chucho Bruno and filmmaker Lauro Bresanovich.

The work is inspired by the distress of witnessing the place you call home transform while still living within it. Expanding beyond its environmental origins, the project explores the emotional experience of living in a world that no longer feels familiar.

Following the screening, Micaela, Chucho and Lauro will be joined by curator and artist Ruby Donohoe for a conversation about collaboration, process and what it means to make work in uncertain times.

Come for the film. Stay for the conversation. Meet the artists. Connect with other curious people. These are the nights that remind us why gathering around art still matters.

SITE Residencies are supported by the Regional Arts Development Fund - a partnership between the Queensland Government (@artsqueensland) and @noosa_council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.

Also, just like
when you are a person
who has a body that changes
so often,
you know change
in this really
intimate way
like, you know change as gradual
you know change can be instant
it can be
reversed

And I think
it’s taken me
a long while
to feel this way
about that knowledge
But it’s actually
a real political gift

And I think
I’m just starting
to be fed
by that idea

Hosted by @____nohoney, we had not only an insight to the historical context, artists story, but also his story.

How did this album blasted into his life. A connection still remembered today, as it would’ve been yesterday.

NO SKIPS purpose is to share music.

Who will host next?

These pieces belong
together.
When I started making,
I was really struck
by them
kind of, being like
these speculative
body parts,
like hip sockets
and joints and
like
hearts unravelled.
And, yeah,
I started
to see so much
of the body in
them and started
to think of them
as, kind of, belonging
to some animal
or version of myself.

But they’re a collection
of works called ‘Join
Me Here Where Things
Are Soft’
And I’ve
been playing around with
how they might melt,
how they might lead
to less
solid states.

And bones are
this really gorgeous thing.
Like I think
when they exit
the body,
we know them
as brittle and
as dead material.
But when they’re in
the body,
they’re so wet,
they’re so dense,
they have so
much relationship with blood,
and they grow.
And are shaped by
pressure,
like how we use
them
And so they start
to be shaped by
their life.

Prior to doing a
lot of like sculptural
work,
my work is mostly
with the body and
in movement
and performance and time.
and
I’ve been really fortunate
to meet clay.
And it’s
one of the most
generous mediums
I’ve ever met
because you
just spend time
with it and
you stay
in touch with it.
And it just….
starts
to give you so,
so much.
And here
they’re kind of leaving
the space
or attracted to,
yeah,
the edges of things.
yeah.

Days of making with The Farm’s Open Fields Program. Here’s to toiling the artistic soils, seeds planted, collaborations blooming, and new works being watered.

Artists gathering around bodies, time, movement, conversation, and the unfinished. Sharing practices, testing ideas, and opening up the many ways live work comes into being.

Some documentation of these processes as they unfolded - the quiet moments, the experimentation, and the collective energy of artists making together.

TOMORROW | The Old Lock Up | 🔗in bio

An exhibition of chimeric orientation.
afterbodies, by Camille Therese and Ruby Donohoe, is a viscerotropic channel. The slow, instinctive turning of the body toward what it cannot name; a pull that begins beneath language, in the wet grammar of organs. It is the gut leaning before the mind agrees.

An exhibition of chimeric orientation.
Toward shimmering heat, systematic rust, and intimacy
Where desire thickens into direction and the interior finds its way outward.

The exhibition is a feral pull - a speculative present shaped by multiple, even contradictory impulses at once. Part apparition, part residue the works are a beautiful defiant growth in The Old Lock Up- sculpture, textile, video, and installation.

afterbodies operates as a counter-logic to the authoritarian imagination- dissolving fixed identities, interrupting narratives of inevitability, and generating porous symbolic worlds through which alternative social relations can be sensed, rehearsed, and held.

A choreography of almosts, summoning unruly undercurrents as an antidote.

Here the undisciplined grows - like when you leave a potato in the dark in a cupboard and it grows looking for soil and something to stick its roots into, thriving in unlikely conditions.

Sunday 12th of April marked the beginning of LA POWER — a celebration of music, art, diversity, femininity, self-expression, and serious dancing.

We started with the best collaboration possible: @chuleo.club , coming from Naarm/MLB. We’re beyond honoured to join forces with @lina_zabaleta_ and her Chuleo, she creates spaces where queer culture, latinidad, migration, and dancefloor politics meet. She is revolutionary and we march with her.

The dancefloor was alive all night. Bodies moving freely, with space!People connecting, and energy in every corner. There were emotional moments, unforgettable sets, and a reminder of why spaces like this matter. Together we built a night to center woman, FLINTA+, queer communities, and EVERYONE who understands the importance of moving with respect, care and freedom.

We saw organisations coming from Gympie, people coming from Brisbane to see their favourite dj, and all of this on a Sunday, in the middle of industrial Warana. Also April was packed with events, so it took an extra push — and it was worth it. We danced, we kissed, we sweat.

Massive love to our incredible lineup for shaking the room:
@lina_zabaleta_ @anitabqueen @clementaum @coollab_collective @legally_t_max @gateoftears @kellieodempsey @ryliebaye @_________micaela @jucanegret

And everyone behind scenes, organisers, door volunteers, sound and lights crew, stage crew, safety people, venue crew!! And friends just helping all around, thanks for making this happen

@surmusicandarts @joyserebrisky @arielgastao @lenamaffia @b0nnie_carter @poth45d @uma_lange_19 @grace_bonython @issybange @merygagliostro @mica_schettini @pilarcalvino @monzinmsc @francerutti_ @matiasmoratti @feervitali @teocatarinolo @karinaseljak @kxmdxn_ @s.t.o.n.e.w.a.x @bare.bone.soul

To everyone that came and bought the ticket! Your support is what makes this possible. This one was an expensive show to produce and we have a plan to make it sustainable, but today your ticket is what keeps the ball rolling so, sincere thank you.

And huge thanks to the incredible content crew! @melissahphoto @zionpoy and @deltalledo This is all their magic here so enjoy !!!

Ready for the next one ❤️‍🔥
