You don’t come across groups like this very often. The teams that stay with you usually aren’t just the most talented or the ones with the best record. They’re the ones that become something together.

What made this team special wasn’t just the record — although 30 wins, 1 tie, and 3 losses over two seasons speaks for itself. It was the way they carried themselves through all of it.

No cliques. No divide between starters and non-starters. Everyone included. Everyone invested.

The players who weren’t on the field were often the loudest voices supporting the ones who were — not because anyone asked them to, but because they genuinely wanted their teammates to succeed. That’s rare. That’s culture. And culture is always a choice teams make together.

They learned how to respond — to adversity, to lineup changes, to roles you may not have wanted, to difficult moments. And they handled all of it with maturity and class.

That’s not something a coach can force. That’s something a group builds when they decide to be part of something bigger than themselves.

Watching this group become that has been one of the true privileges of my coaching career.
