🎬🎞️💪🏾✨ FOREVER SEASON #2

What a year! So honored to be a part of this amazing show, and in proximity with all the awesome people who made it happen. A year ago this script coordinator position came at the perfect time. And after some lows in life, this HIGH was the answer to prayer (you have no idea). To help bring stories to life as a job/ career is an amazing gift I DON'T TAKE FOR GRANTED. I thank God for the people in these slides (and the ones who aren’t… I only had 20 slides). We wrapped a week and some change ago but I’m posting now because I’m often reflecting, observing and pondering life from the outside it seems, trying to be as present as possible, but sometimes in the “back”, taking it all in, because I know not much lasts FOREVER… and because to be honest, the back sometimes has the best. You get the privilege of viewing and witnessing life in motion. Witnessing life is another gift I’m sooooo grateful for. I’m usually the one taking the pictures, because I think to know ME, isn’t seeing cute pictures of me, but instead I think it’s to be apart of my/ see things from my point of view 👀... well this is my POV of FOREVER season 2 (the postable parts anyway 😝).

It’s filled with great people who are honestly so kind and creative and were all a pleasure to get to know. Long days, long nights, revisions on revisions to make it right (yes I rhymed, no it wasn't on purpose, I’m just that good). I appreciate everyone I got to encounter and enjoyed getting to submerge myself into the scripts and world. Though most good things eventually come to an end, Love is the only thing that connects us all and doesn’t leave, it lasts FOREVER!

That’s a wrap on FOREVER season two!! 🎬 Thank you to THE @marabrockakil, @fromthewc, and @netflix for the opportunity to observe all season! Cannot tell y’all how difficult it is to get a shadowing opportunity. Let alone one that allows someone to shadow TV writers from prep meetings all the way to the editing bay. This experience has been life affirming. Making TV is a process and a privilege, and Dawn and them are right that it takes a village. Thank you all for welcoming me into yours for the season ✨

Thanks to @erika_harrison, @rubyrosecollins, and @terranceddaye for all you’ve shared and shown me. Thank you to the directors (@thembibanks, Kevin, @mothedirector) for letting me shadow them as well! I learned so much from seeing how y’all navigate prep and craft this visual language. Many thanks to all the crew who shared their processes and needs across departments. None of this would run as smoothly without the assistants and support staff. Adore y’all and all you do!

I’ll share more eventually, but just know, I’m more ready than ever to make TV. Let’s get staffed next, yeah?

FOREVER

A group of amazing STORYTELLERS from various backgrounds came together to make a love story on an island with a lot of BLACK HISTORY.

Fun fact: Ruby Rose Collins who was my assistant during this shoot and now my co-producer for S2 of Forever is the granddaughter of Filmmaker Kathleen Collins — a polymath whose film Losing Ground was denied large-scale distribution, was among one of the first feature films created by a Black woman back in 1982.

Our beloved episode 105 was filmed on location in Martha’s Vineyard during a very cold month of May back in 2024.
