POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

On Thursday it was my pleasure to facilitate a @bcfoodandbev peer group in partnership with the legendary @kootenaycoop

Kootenay Coop General Manager Amanda Viergin was an endless source of knowledge, showing us what successful brands at the co-op have in common, discussing common mistakes, giving tips about how to be a thoughtful vendor, pricing, and so much more. Our lucky attendees got a wealth of real time information. And did I mention that we got to eat like gods as well? 🧀

thank you to all who attended our sponsor @fccagriculture and to our wonderful friends at the Kootenay Coop. Shoutout to Jesse from the coop marketing team for all her help ❤️

BC Food & Beverages next Kootenay appearance will be at @basinfood in Kimberley this November. I’ll be there as your Kootenay Peer Group Representative, and catch CEO @donaldsonjs and COO @alisa.hutton on site as well, discussing the important issues affecting our industry right now. #bcfood #KootenayFood #MandiLunan #FoodBusiness #KootenayCoop

2025 ‘Chal Puth Sher Banke’⁣
Gewürztraminer / Pinot Gris / Muscat ⁣
⁣
Organically farmed at Gen V Vineyard in Kaleden, BC, along the cliffs of Skaha Lake. 25+ year old vines amongst a beautifully even and lush carpet of grasses and native brush. Farmed by The Rossion Family. ⁣
⁣
Gewürztraminer and Pinot Gris were picked & pressed together, then cofermented naturally in old French oak barrels. The wine was kept on gross lees undisturbed for 10 months. Prior to bottling we blended a barrel of Muscat (15%). We then bottled by hand, with an addition of 30ppm of sulphur. Our winery has no power or electricity, so as always, everything is done by hand, foot, gravity and head lamps. ⁣

“In the heart of our organically cultivated vineyards, every beat resonates with purpose and nurturing. Embracing a holistic philosophy, we cherish the interconnectedness of all aspects, caring not only for vines but for our entire ecosystem. Through the steadfast practice of these principles, intricately woven into the fabric of our farming beliefs, we awaken the earth’s vitality, nurturing an environment where biodiversity thrives and harmony saturates our soils.”

NSWT featured natural winemaker: RIGOUR & WHIMSY

@rigourandwhimsy

“The name Rigour & Whimsy is an homage to our commitment to seeking balance in ourselves, in our relationships, and in the natural world. Like yin and yang, Rigour and Whimsy are seemingly contrary attitudes that are actually complementary and interdependent. Both are necessary to find harmony.

Rigour & Whimsy’s approach to wine growing centres on regenerative farming, which means to increase biodiversity, enrich soils, improve watersheds, and enhance ecosystem resilience. We believe that responsible agriculture involves building topsoil and minimizing external inputs and disturbances to the rich microbiome of the soil.”

We are excited to welcome Rigour & Whimsy (poured by Leah from Ruby Soho @rubysohosupplyco ) to Natural Selections Wine Tour this Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Queen Elizabeth Park in beautiful Revelstoke, British Columbia.
