✨ Lauren + Tighe ✨ These two said full send and absolutely meant it. After a first look by the creek and an intimate ceremony on the Nisqually Vista Loop with eight family members, we traded wedding shoes for hiking shoes and headed up the Skyline Trail. The climb was brutal, my glutes filed a complaint, and then Rainier lit up pink and gold over all that fall color and made every vertical foot worth it. Lauren and Tighe wandered, cuddled, brought their beloved banana slugs along for the adventure, and basically had the mountain showing off for them all evening. 🏔️ We finished in the dark with lanterns and a waterfall before heading back to the cabin for cake, drinks, family, and married silly goose shirts. Truly freaking magnificent. Some elopement days feel like I’m witnessing a movie being made right in front of me - one where you get to know the friends and family and the couple’s backstory, follow a love story that’s tender and warm, and walk through locations that are made of pure magic. K+S brought me along to document their day, and when I say the day felt like hanging with two new friends, I really mean it 🥺🥺Such sweet souls who included me like I was a guest, and then we all had a hard time saying goodbye to at the end of it all. In K’s own words: “You were an integral part of the day and now we don’t want to even imagine it without you!” 😭 This cinematic love story was created in part by: the temperate rain forests of the PNW, the long held tradition of serving your loved ones tea and welcoming each others’ families into your own, and the absolute moodiness of the Washington coast. Oh, and two of the coolest people who dreamed up this day and made it come to life. My advice for you: dig deep when it comes to your wedding. Sort out what’s important to you and what feels like a burden to include. I know it can be hard to shake off all the expectations and traditions that come with getting married, but you get to do *exactly* what you want on that day. You have full permission!!! Whether that’s starting the morning making breakfast together before a long drive down the coast, paddleboarding to the middle of your favorite lake to read your vows to each other, or staying out late and watching the stars dance above you. All totally achievable. And if there is a wedding tradition that you feel connected to, then include it! Traditions like handfasting during the ceremony, having a wedding party of all your fave people, or feeding each other cake at the end of the day. There’s no right or wrong, I promise. To K+S: thank you for being so thoroughly YOU. You brought so much of yourselves into this day and eeeeeeveryone felt it 💛💛💛

WHATTTTTT ?!? • But I want to go into depth about something my therapist and I have been discussing at length, and more recently something she said to me; dominique, you go to incredible lengths to create meaningful relationships with your couples and the ones you deeply connect with more than normal… the work you make for them is truly spectacular. The relationship feels more intimate. Your work is a visual sonnet to them and I find that admirable, to be able to give so much of yourself and your creative over to your couples. I think that is nothing short of what my relationship is with the work created for Anna and Ryan. No longer just clients but lifelong friends. Perhaps the only people to actually make us consider moving. For opening our horizons to new places, for fostering a diverse and inclusive community that brought me to tears more times than I could count, for their constant words of affirmation that they have no regrets about working with us, for literally everything. Where do I even start about this beautiful day?! It was a true merge of both families coming together. The brides mom blessed them with a Hawaiian Hula dance and the grooms mother offered a Polish blessing with bread, salt and 2 shots following their bubble wand ceremony. Angela and Sander were presented with gestures of love - for the groom, he had a handsome Ti leaf lei and the bride, a gorgeous pikake lei🌺 You’ll notice @lilo_lovebug being the proudest puppers of her parents 🥰 The flowers were done by Cory from @urbanplantshop and fit the aesthetic perfectly with a blend of Hawaiian native florals. @wonkybloom even created the most perfect bird of paradise!
