Meta-awareness — the capacity to observe one’s own processes, not just execute them — does seem necessary for deliberate growth. Feedback loops require a vantage point outside the loop. You can’t correct what you can’t notice. This is why therapy, good coaching, and philosophical inquiry all begin with some form of “step back and look at what you’re doing.”

#GHOSTSHIPCREW’s @mike_mike_23_ IS AN OUTER BANKS LEGEND & PRO AF — and what could be more fitting than a surprise reveal from his closest friends at @moms_sweet_shop, featuring hand-painted @chris_dyer art, remixed as linework specifically for Mikey’s GS graphic by the legendary artist himself?

Original hand-painted deck by Chris Dyer remixed as line art for GHOST/SHIP & colored by MIKEY WEEKS. Chris Dyer has been a contemporary and friend of GHOST/SHIP founder Andy Howell for many years, and the perfect opportunity to collaborate on Mikey’s deck arose when Mikey ran into Chris at a music festival in Florida last year. The circle was complete when Andy and Mikey FaceTimed Dyer at his new home in Florida, and GS LEGEND Kris Markovich happened to be there painting with Chris. Small world… big LOVE… and the MIKEY WEEKS “PSYCHONAUT” was the perfect catalyst for collaboration.

Some may notice the deck also doubles as Betty’s official pro model, thanks to the top graphic—but we’re pretty sure Mikey wouldn’t have it any other way.

P.S. Betty is Mikey’s dog, best friend, and ride-or-die—joined at the hip for all GS adventures and debauchery.

Last weekend, the #THEGHOSTSHIPCREW dropped ⚓️ at @theranchcamp for a weekend packed with nonstop action — including (but not limited to): cold plunges, truck-powered wakeboarding, mountain bike jumps, skippin’ rocks, rockin’ blocks, fishin’ the river, Dylan’s board reveal, plenty of tomfoolery… oh, and yeah, we skated too! 🏴‍☠️☠️

Huge thanks to everyone that showed up & showed out and Bradford for hosting this ragtag group of pirates.
