1i1an1 got some of the most outlandish bars in the underground mannn 😭

no song better exemplifies the chicago native’s lack of a filter than “lebron (karakuli).” the song’s most memorable bar, “she thought it was my d***, the whole time it’s my thumb”, was recently quoted by lil uzi vert. i can’t lie uzi showing love to chicago is not something new. the over-distorted instrumentals and goofy lyrics are the perfect recipe for a song y’all have likely already heard on tiktok

“speaker knockerz” is one of his most well known tracks that he’s put out. it features an1 and boolymon using insanely heavy autotune in order to achieve a sort of ridiculous tinny sound effect. the giftok instrumentals sound like they’re straight out of an 8 bit video game and lyrics like “peterbot” fried me. i genuinely don’t know how he came up with stuff like this and then is still able to put out more serious stuff on his latest ep

“tool” off of “an1 and clay” showed off his ability to be a serious plugg-esque artist. this was the first track in which i wasn’t constantly waiting for an out-of-pocket bar to leave me crying laughing. it’s a little rough around the edges when it comes to the mixing and raw vocals, but he showcases a really nice flow and even falsetto. one comment on youtube even expressed he was “the osamason of chicago”

an1 is getting love from industry titans like uzi not just because the bars are shocking, but they’re incredibly catchy. there’s a memorability to it regardless of what you think of the sound because of that

what do y’all think tho? lmk below <3
