🥈 for Ash at the White Lake GP 🤝

“It was a very fast and aggressive race, with a pretty stacked field. I was active and was in a lot of moves, but nothing would stick. After an hour, a dangerous move of four guys went up the road, and I managed to bridge across to it solo. In the sprint, I played my cards right but was unfortunately beaten by the faster rider. It’s nice to get a good result for the team after a run of bad luck. Hopefully, I can build on it in the final few races of the season.”

Lots of momentum with the lads coming into the end of the season 💪

A week well spent in the Alps 🏔️💜 Hiking, via ferrata, swimming, elite level snacking, and sharing special places with my sister Steph 😊
I've spent time (often quite a lot!) in the Chamonix valley every summer since 2002 (except 2011 & 2020) and while it's changed a lot over the years, it's still exceptionally beautiful 👌
Yes, it's ridiculously busy in the summer, and at times frustrating, but there's a reason why so many people visit, and I'm obviously aware that as a tour operator I'm contributing to that 🙈
As always, it's not hard to find places away from the main crowds, and seeing familiar sights with someone experiencing them for the first time is a lovely way to remind yourself what a privilege it is to spend time amongst such incredible landscapes 🥰

Witnessing the daily rockfalls, experiencing the exceptional heat at altitude, and seeing first hand how much the glaciers have receded over the last 24 years is really shocking, and sad 😢 It's hard to imagine how it might look here in another 24 years...😐

Tomorrow the team heads to the Lancaster GP, one of the toughest rounds of the National Road Series.

Riders will take on 152km over a challenging 10-lap, 14.5km circuit, featuring around 2,800 metres of climbing.

A selective course with relentless short climbs and technical racing throughout – good luck to the boys in blue!

Took part in the North Regional Championship yesterday and managed 2nd place 🥈 not bad for a year off the bike and only 6 months back training.

Also took the Rudy Project Wingdream for a spin for the first time and I am mega impressed, comfy, great vision and I didn’t think about it once which is a great sign.

Now it’s time to buckle down and focus on the BC Scottish National 10 and 25 which are fast approaching.

Thank you to @mfccbikes for organising @bikesofinverness for supporting the prizes and of course all the volunteers who gave up their Saturday.

New helmet day!

The met drone 2 set really well on me but I felt that when I tucked my head the tail was kicking up a bit, it probably made zero difference but it was always playing on my mind during a race “is the tail down and in the right place” which felt distracting to me.

I have decided to give the wingdream a crack and see how it feels in race conditions, looks like it sits well and the visibility is way better than the met which is a huge added bonus along with it potentially filling the gap between my face and arm much more due to the shape of the visor.

Thanks to @bottrillmatthew and Kate for getting it to me in time to try this week.
