SHADES

Shades is about the masks we wear as a facade to reveal parts of ourselves to the world. Too often that we feel so afraid of getting ourselves out there, we forget that sometimes... all you need is a little push that gives you the permission to do so. Like a pair of red shades. :)

My cast understood the intention and more. So much love to all of them 😌

FULL CIRCLE 2026

Now that this dance season's officially over...

Full Circle was a culmination of my journey of where I started, where I'm ending a chapter, to starting a new one. I first started dancing with @mofodance in 2023. Now, I'm contributing to the show not just as part of the organizing committee but also a performer... I guess that's why we decided to call it Full Circle, right?

To Fast FWD - Everyone in this team is immensely talented, humble, yet so special in their own way (deficits?) I've never had this much fun working with a group of people that are on the same wavelength at any point throughout our rehearsals. It was just so easy to work with each and everyone of you. I'm so grateful for learning about finding the fun in the process from us.

To my Shades cast - I was struggling throughout the process to find a happy medium on where my piece landed in what parts of my artistry I wanted to show, and what made it entertaining for the audience. However, every session breezed by because of how much fun we had. I love you all to eternity :)

To @laurahyerin, thank you for trusting me - the least clean and technical dancer, to fulfill your vision of a piece that demanded the maximum level of cleanliness LOL.

To @_bri710, idk how you remained relaxed when your piece was barely finished 1 week before the show, but I learnt so much about how to be calm and balanced even when situations got stressful. Thank you for trusting me to have fun in your piece :)

To @megansyukur and Choreo 2, thank you for letting me torture everyone in our warmups throughout the season. It was such an honor watching every single one of you grow to become the dancers you are today.

To @kennonnn @brandududu @janceecustodio , we did it! We knew we wanted to put on a dope ass show and make our dancers comfortable. We did that and so much more. Thank you for trusting me with setting the tone and vision of the show.

Lastly, to @jane_alexeeva , while you couldn't be at the show, your presence was felt everywhere. From the piece you set, to your motivating words to me before the show, there's no one else I'd rather be on this rollercoaster ride with :)

Some snapshots of a much needed break after finals! Thank you to @unlimiteddanceclub for the opportunity to create a set! It’s been a while and I’m a bit rusty but I had so much fun creating again! Also thank you to @yukaptured for catching it on film!
