- 𝐂𝐋𝐎𝐒𝐄𝐑 𝐓𝐎 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄 𝐑𝐈𝐃𝐄 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 -

Yesterday I cycled my ninth consecutive Closer to Free Ride as a member of Team Craft Beer! This was my worst training year ever. Between the fact that it was pretty cold and rainy well into the end of May, I was away on a summer road trip for a month, and I’ve been busy with both of my sons, I was only able to get out for three good training rides this season. In spite of it all, I had a great ride with fantastic weather! I finished the 40-mile route in just over 3 hours. Thank you again to everyone who sent me a donation! Not only did I meet my fundraising goal but I even surpassed it! It means a lot to see how many people are involved in this ride and the impact that it has on cancer research. Several of the riders (including myself) are cancer survivors!

Team Craft Beer was the 2nd largest fundraising team this year with over $176,000. Collectively since the team’s inception in 2014, we have raised well over $1 Million. Thank you to everyone who donated to our cause, all of the volunteers, all of the people cheering us along, and New England Brewing Company & Athletic Brewing Company for the free beers at the end of the ride. Most of all, thanks to our team captain Gina Malafronte for all of her tireless efforts towards our amazing cause! 🍻🚴‍♂️

Another incredible & delicious year of @ctpizzaandbrewfest! 🍕🍻

Huge thank you to everyone who came today, all the Connecticut pizzerias, breweries, vendors, sponsors, the Rum Runners, Hartford Healthcare Amphitheater, city of Bridgeport, and all of our staff for making this wacky idea we had 4 years ago into something truly special. See ya next year! 🙌

OYSTERFEST + RUM RUNNERS = A MILFORD TRADITION!

The Rum Runners are back for their annual Stonebridge Oyster Festival Weekend Party, and there’s no better way to celebrate one of Milford’s biggest weekends of the year!

After you’ve spent the day enjoying fresh oysters, local food, drinks, and everything the Milford Oyster Festival has to offer, make your way to Stonebridge and keep the party going with one of Connecticut’s favorite party bands! The Milford Oyster Festival continues its long tradition of celebrating great seafood, live music, and the local community every August.
