Throwback to an unforgettable evening at the final weekend of the Concertgebouw Mahler Festival in Amsterdam earlier this year 🎶 — conducting the phenomenal New European Ensemble. 🎻

We premiered a terrific new commission by Sebastian Black, The Mosaique of the Aire, alongside my own chamber orchestra arrangement of Mahler’s Fourth Symphony with the wonderful Keren Motseri as soloist. 🌟

It was also the very last of my Covid postponements (originally planned for March 2020!) ⏳ — so not a little surreal.

Huge thanks to Marina Mahler, the Mahler Foundation, the Concertgebouw, Sebastian, Keren and the New European Ensemble for making it a concert to remember.

Think back to the wonderful Domleschger Sommerkonzerte, which ended just two weeks ago! Ensemble Oktoplus played two wonderful concerts at the traditional festival in Graubünden (great chamber music since 1978), including

Mozart: Serenade in C minor
Dvorak: American Suite
Strauss: Till Eulenspiegel- einmal anders!
Schulhoff: Concertino
Bizet: Carmen Suite (with our wonderful daughter Victoria Refardt as soloist!)

See you again next year at the beginning of September in Domleschg! Looking forward to it!!

✨Concertgebouw Mahler Festival 2025✨

An unforgettable concert with @new.european.ensemble and Keren Motseri, premiering @sebblack96's Mosaique of the Aire and my own chamber Mahler 4.

What a privilege to work with these musicians. 🙏

All made possible by @mahlerfoundation and @marinafmahler 💚
