Thank you for the invite to the @roadrunnersports (Carlsbad) HOUSEWARMING PARTY! 🥳

We had a good time mingling with San Diego’s finest Run Groups… sampling shoes (thanks @saucony & Brooks!), drinking energy drinks, coffee and gels! We also got lucky and won some gifts from @dialed.moods (@nasara_gargonnu) and an entry from @runrocknroll (@jamque.1876) …and of course we ran some miles! We got about 3.3-ish miles in on those Carlsbad streets!

Since joining the running community, I have connected with some cool people. No lie: some people talk to hear themselves & there are some with substance. Here is a shout out to my extension via @brooksrunning 💙

Funny last year this time, I had never met any of these nice people in person. Now, I can tell you how they all stand out to me because we all have some level of common interest. Here is part of my tribe.

Miles brought us together. Brotherhood keeps us connected. 🏃🏾‍♂️🍷

Black Men Run San Diego took the community off the pavement and out to Mount Palomar Winery for a day of fellowship, laughter, and making memories. It’s bigger than running, it’s about building lasting connections.

Standing near this museum reminds me that there is so much history that was made on the backs of my ancestors. So many stories that were written because we were different. Not liked by others because we stood out, took chances and didn’t settle for less. This place is filled with knowledge so many people need to go experience.

Cherish the past and know we are living pieces of history ourselves. As we change the status quo’s of the world and never allow our voices to be muted. Stay Awake, running is freedom. Let it ring your way.
