October 18, 2026…A Day I Will Never Forget! 🏅🏃🏾‍♂️🔥

Today, I Accomplished Something That Once Seemed Impossible. I Completed My Very First Marathon, Right Here In My Own City Of COLUMBUS, OHIO! 🏙️💜

26.2 Miles Of Determination, Discipline, Pain, Perseverance, And Mental Strength. Every Mile Tested Me, But Every Step Reminded Me Why I Started. This Was More Than Just A Race. This Was A Personal Victory And A Memory I Will Carry With Me For The Rest Of My Life!

I Want To Take A Moment To Show My Appreciation To Some Amazing People Who Made This Experience Even More Special.

🏅 @cbusmarathon — Thank You For Creating An Opportunity For Us To Challenge Ourselves, Push Beyond Our Limits, And Experience Something Truly Unforgettable!

💜 @eastonrunclub — Thank You For Showing Up And Supporting Me At Mile 20! At That Point, Every Bit Of Encouragement Meant More Than You Know!

🎥 @runkmm — Thank You For Capturing Me Doing What I Do Best…BURPEES! 😂💪🏾 Even During A Marathon, You Know I Had To Represent BurpeeBros!

🙌🏾 @jdikevinh — Thank You For Being There, Supporting Me, And Making Sure That Special Moment Of Me Crossing The Finish Line Was Captured On Video! That’s A Memory I’ll Always Be Able To Look Back On!

🏃🏾‍♀️ @momrunmomrepeat — A Special Thank You For Cheering Me On At Mile 26 And Actually Running Alongside Me, Pushing Me Toward That Finish Line! When I Was So Close To The End, Your Encouragement Helped Me Finish Strong!

😂 @the_incrediblegab — Last But Definitely Not Least, Thank You For Basically FORCING Me To Sign Up For A Marathon In The First Place! 😂😂😂 But Seriously, Thank You For Believing In Me, Encouraging Me, And Giving Me The Pep Talk I Needed To Get The Job Done! Sometimes All It Takes Is Someone Seeing The Potential In You Before You Fully See It In Yourself!

26.2 MILES. ONE CITY. ONE GOAL. ONE UNFORGETTABLE MOMENT.

💌 For the last 4 Chicago marathons, this community have cheered for me on course and from afar, ran with me, handed me bottles and gels, gave me pep talks and pulled me out of some dark miles. This year, it was my turn to reciprocate. This is my love letter to you all.

Three of my athletes completed @chimarathon today. Seeing them from start to finish show up has been one of the best gifts in running I’ve ever had. Im grateful for their determination, resilience, and determination to make it happen with a red flagged race.

Proud wouldn’t even begin to express how I feel.

Put a professional camera in front of me and suddenly I’m an elite athlete 😂🤣🤣 I felt VERY cool and important yesterday.

But really, I started running just to prove to myself I could. Getting to represent one of the biggest races in my city now is pretty freaking cool 🥹

🤯 12 MILES IN THE BOOKS—AND I SURPRISED MYSELF! ✨

I am still in shock! I stepped up to the start line of Run Columbus Run with a stomach full of nervous butterflies. This was officially the farthest distance I have ever run in my life, and the realization that my very first half marathon is actually happening started to sink in. 🥹

But guess what? I completely surprised myself with a 2:18 finish at a steady 11:30 pace!

The energy and community vibes this morning were absolute magic. A massive shoutout to Fleet Feet Columbus’s MIT (Marathoner in Training) crew and their incredible pacers. My main goal today was pure discipline—honoring the training, resisting the urge to go too fast too early, and sticking right on that 11:30 pace.

We are capable of so much more than we think.

Next stop: 13.1 on race day! Let’s go!

You ever take a step back and think, “dang. I love my friends and my life is kinda rad”? Because, same.

September brought lots of rain, lots of miles, and even more smiles.
