Two days before the race, I was dealing with a sore throat and wasn’t sure what race day would bring. But I made it to the start line at the World Road Running Championships in Copenhagen 🇩🇰.
Proud to have stepped up, trusted the work, and raced against the best in the world. Not every race is about perfect preparation, sometimes it’s about showing up and giving everything you have.

A bittersweet end to a rollercoaster season. A torn ACL at the Mediterranean Games and another surgery is definitely not how I wanted to finish.

Looking back, 2026 gave me a lot to be proud of:
2 new PBsat the 400m Hurdles (50:03), Another National Champion Title (4th in the row) , my best performance at the European Men’s Championship so far, and endless traveling. This past year tested my body and mind but trust me I have a lot more in the tank.

Now, the ACL rehab is the next mountain to climb. I already know this challenge is only going to make me stronger. Time to rebuild. ⏱️💼

Two weeks I’ll never forget. 🇳🇱🌍

My first World U20 Championships, and what an experience it has been.

I started the championships with the 5000m, where I finished 16th in the world. I was really happy with my race especially considering the heat and the poor air quality. I was able to race, compete, and enjoy every lap on one of the biggest stages in the world. Something I’m incredibly proud of.

A few days later came the 3000m. My legs felt amazing, I had so much confidence and I was really excited to see what I could do. Unfortunately, halfway through the race while trying to close the gap to a group ahead of me, I took a hard fall. The scrapes will heal, but the disappointment is a little harder to shake off. I knew I had so much more in me that day, which makes it tough to look back on the race.

But despite that, I’m leaving Eugene with so much pride. Proud of the performances I delivered, proud of the lessons I learned, and most of all grateful for everything and everyone who made these two weeks so special. The friends I made, the people I met, the experiences I’ll carry with me and all the support from everyone back home. ❤️

I got to race at a World Championships, finish 16th and 24th in the world, and experience everything that comes with competing at this level. What a journey it has been.

And as I head home, I know another chapter is about to begin. In just a few weeks, I’ll be leaving the Netherlands and heading to Boston to start my next adventure, studying and running in the States. 🇺🇸

It’s bittersweet to close this chapter of my life in the Netherlands, but I’m so excited for everything that’s ahead. For now, I’m just incredibly grateful for the last two weeks. I’ve enjoyed every second and I know I’ll never forget Hayward Field. 🌲🤍

Thank you Eugene. Until next time. 🇳🇱❤️🇺🇸
