@runthroughuk Battersea Park. 5km PB. 17:41. 13th/294. 🏅

Hot and unbelievably busy on the course yesterday, but so happy to finally get back out racing after a dealing with a miserable injury since March. 16 mins I’m coming for you 🎯.

A privilege once again running and being in a dark place with these boys.🤝

18:40. Not what we came for.

5km gives you no room for error when it comes to pacing and I got mine wrong today. I know I had more in me.

It is what it is.

But success isn’t always a number on the clock, it’s the consistent hard sessions you do, the training block and the sessions shared with mates - the time is the cherry on top if you get what you aimed for.

My first running race, was a pleasure racing with these legends.

What yesterday’s 10K really taught me…🏃🏼‍♀️

Running doesn’t lie.

There are no shortcuts. No cheating. No hiding. It’s just you, your preparation, and your willingness to keep putting one foot in front of the other.

Yesterday wasn’t the race I wanted. It was 26-28°C, I felt exhausted from start to finish, and it was one of those days where nothing felt easy. But that’s racing.

The biggest lessons?

…don’t go out too hot🫠

• Run with people who are better and faster than you. They’ll raise your standard.
• Run your own race. Comparison only distracts you from your own progress.
• Control what you can and let go of what you can’t. Weather, course, and conditions are all part of the challenge.
• Get comfortable being uncomfortable. Growth rarely feels easy.
• Be patient. Fitness takes time, and rushing the process often leads to setbacks.

Not every race will end with a PB, but every race gives you something to learn.

Keep showing up. Keep doing the work. The results will come.

Big shoutout to @runningwithtommy always pushing, always supporting, he knows what I’m capable of better than I do.

⚡ SUNDAY SERVICE ⚡
Rolling with the fast twitch boys.

Just 18 months ago I honestly wondered if this version of life was behind me.

The injuries.
The burnout.
The self doubt.
Watching younger athletes disappear into the distance while convincing yourself you should “slow down now.”

But mornings like this remind me why I never stopped.

This isn’t just about pace or fitness anymore.
It’s about belonging.

Standing shoulder to shoulder with lads 20–30 years younger… not trying to survive the session… but genuinely being part of the front pack. That means more to me than any medal, PB or social media post ever could.

Because deep down, every runner wants the same thing:

To still feel alive.
To still feel capable.
To still feel connected to the tribe.

64 years old and still rolling with the rapid crew 🚀
Still chasing progress.
Still earning my place.
Still moving forward.

Different ages. Different paths. One shared language:
discipline, suffering, loyalty and respect.

This is what belonging looks like. 🖤 #brotherhood #frontpack #forwardonly #crewlove #noexcuses

The older I get, the more I realise this is the real wealth in life. Brothers in arms. #brothersinarms #runningcommunity #runcrew #sundayservice
