Happy 6th Running Anniversary! Six years ago, I was all sorts of miserable and started running to maybe be a bit better and lose a bit of weight. I worked to a mile and then kept going. Since then, there have been races of all lengths, running in multiple states and countries, and about (or over) a thousand of training miles per year. This year has had a lot of recovery from a massive injury from last year and building back up to train for my second marathon in a few weeks…and a bunch of running buddies to keep me company. I continue to be so grateful for what running has done to my life and the people who support it. ❤️

Half Marathon #5: Game On Singer Island and third state on the Ricken Brothers Half Marathon Tour. After an insane training period shaken by some sickness, some injury, and major life changes, I had no idea what to expect. So I am real proud to have run my second fastest time. And very thankful for the cheerleading squad (clearly the loudest and proudest on the course)! Now, to the beach!

What. A. Ride.

Yesterday was all sorts of incredible and I am all sorts of proud. From not being able to run a mile three years ago, to running the freaking NYC Marathon. And to be able to do it with my brother, one of my best friends, and a bunch of other friends…all of whom continue to serve as incredible inspirations…was surreal, to say the least. Easily, one of the most physically difficult things I have ever done and I am so proud of running the whole thing and getting through it despite some fairly significant leg issues.

Incredibly grateful for my fantastic parents who came up from Florida to show their support in a million ways throughout the weekend, my fabulous in laws who drove in from Ohio to cheer me on, and, of course, my unbelievable husband who has stepped up in all the ways to make training as smooth as possible and serve as the fearless leader of the cheer squad yesterday.

Giant thank you to everyone who came out on a Sunday to cheer me on and/or come celebrate and the after party, tracked on the app, and/or sent messages of encouragement throughout. Your support and love has meant so much and I am so freaking lucky to have all of you in my community.

Now, to the Epsom salt bath! 😂

Today’s workout: 10K with Greg!

We set out for an easy 6 miles with Greg as the pacer. I was feeling really strong going into mile 5 so we picked up the pace. Towards mile 6 I saw the opportunity to push and hit a personal best 10K so that’s what we did. Great way to cap off a long weekend.
