You've got a hit and you know it, but they won't let you show it
Nashville's just a mile to a million heartaches.

It’s been a years long process of meticulous crafting & experimentation, but @shortshortsband is finally back. We’ve been sitting on this single (& an album’s worth of tracks) for a few years waiting for the right time to drop and recently it dawned on me that the “right time” doesn’t exist, you have to create it. We’ve been working on a follow up to our first EP since 2019, and we’ve been changing & evolving our sound based just on what we’re excited to make. This track was born from our struggles trying to survive & thrive while working our mutually soul-sucking & exploitative jobs. Working ourselves to the physical & spiritual bone for personal freedom while only earning a hologram of it. We wrote this track with a sobering sense of realism & the spirit of liberation, saying “look at this cage” but also “we’re gonna break the fuck out & burn it down”. It was sooo fun to produce & record this one because we were deliberately making things sound distorted & fucked up, then I’d spend hours mixing & mastering trying to bring order to the chaos. I think this is our biggest track to so far with like 50-something layers on it lol. Anyway thank u for reading all this if you made it this far & here’s a few vids & pics from over the last few years that we’ve been evolving & making our way to this final product. the bandcamp link is in my bio & u can find it elsewhere if u search “taste shortshorts” 🤪 above all else I just hope it finds whoever needs it 💛 enjoy!
