Homecoming 2026 💙🏈

This year has held a lot of hard things, and moving and starting over
somewhere new is never easy. But nights like this—cheering in the stands with Russ, seeing so many familiar faces on the homecoming court, and watching Khloe head off to dinner and the dance with her friends—make my heart feel a little more at home here.

So grateful for these moments, the memories we’re making, and the feeling that this place is becoming home. ✨💙

I missed so much of summer, so being back on the sidelines—even in the cold—means more than I can put into words. Watching Link score a touchdown made every chilly minute worth it. Moments like this are part of healing, and I’m so grateful to enjoy this season with my kids again. 🤍🏈

None of this means I’m not strong—it means this has been incredibly hard.

I’m still receiving Herceptin, still recovering, and still processing everything cancer has required of me. I’m incredibly thankful, but gratitude and struggle can exist at the same time.

Healing is not a straight line, and it doesn’t need a deadline. 🤍

Last night was just FUN. 🤍

Good friends, live music, laughing, getting dressed up and being out doing something that felt so normal. I think one of the things I’m learning in this season is not to rush past moments like these. After a year where so much of life revolved around appointments, treatments, surgery and recovery, a night out with friends just hits more a little differently.

I’m still healing. I’m still figuring out what this next chapter looks like. But I’m also realizing that part of healing is letting myself have fun again, making memories and being really grateful for the ordinary moments.

And last night was a really good one. 🤍

Choose the right person. ❤️

This year has taught me what “for better or worse, in sickness and in health” really means.

Cancer has brought us into moments we never imagined we would face. And the hardest part is that you can’t fix this for me. I know there have been so many times you probably wished you could.
But you do what you can do.

You show up.

You take care of me when I can’t take care of myself. You keep our family going when I can’t. You carry things I don’t always see or even realize need carrying. And somehow, you keep loving me through all of it.
I know this year hasn’t just been hard on me. It’s been hard on you too.

I see you, Russ. I see all of it.

And if I had to walk through the hardest year of my life, I’m so thankful God gave me you to walk beside me.
I love you more than I could ever put into words. ❤️

For better or worse.
In sickness and in health.
Now I know what those words really mean.

A good day doesn’t mean I’m “back”🤍

I’m learning that healing isn’t a straight line some days I feel strong, hopeful and almost like myself again. Other days, the mental and physical weight of everything feels really heavy.
I’m still healing. I still have couple surgeries ahead of me. And maybe the goal isn’t getting back to the old Normal” at all.
maybe it’s learning to give myself grace in whatever this new season looks like one day at a time🤍

And just like that… Gabby has left the nest again🤍🥲
Year TWO. My girl is officially a sophomore in college and somehow saying goodbye. This time wasn’t any easier. She worked so hard this summer. We barely saw her because she was constantly working, but that hard work paid off. She has completely paid for her first semester of college herself and already has a job waiting for her on campus this year to say we are proud of her doesn’t even begin to cover it.
last night, we gathered around her, prayed over her, hugged her tight and said our goodbyes because Dad had the 4 AM airport run this morning. And goodness… There’s just never enough time.
Watching our babies grow into adults is such a strange mix of pride and heartache. You’re so proud of the life they’re building, while a piece of your mama heart just wants to keep them home a little longer.
Have I taught her enough?
Does she really know how deeply loved she is?
Does she know she can call us for ANYTHING?
Does she know that no matter how many miles are between South Carolina and Arizona? She can always come home?🤍
I miss her already.🥲
But I also know we are sending her back covered in prayer. Praying the Lord goes before her, blesses her and keeps her, protects her, surrounds her with good people, and guides every decision and reminds her that she is never, Ever alone.
Go make sophomore year your BEST year yet Gabby girl. We are beyond proud we are beyond proud of the strong, hard-working, young woman you are becoming watching you fly away will never be easy on this mama heart but what a blessing it is to watch you spread your wings✈️❤️

Life keeps moving… and I think that’s the part that always gets me. 🥹❤️

Lincoln Ray — 11 years old and somehow starting his LAST year of elementary school. I seriously can’t believe it. 😭

Khloe Grace — 16 and a junior!! Now officially the leader of the house with Gabby gone 😂 She is thoughtful, kind, and has such a good heart. 🤍

Braydee Ann — 14 and a FRESHMAN!! HIGH SCHOOL!! Like… seriously, how are we here?! She works hard, shows up, is a great friend, and absolutely kills it everywhere she goes. 💪🏼❤️

Another first day. Another reminder that time does not slow down, no matter how badly this mama wants it to.

So proud of these three. 🥹
Now somebody tell me how to make time STOP. 😭

Happy 25 years to us🤍
And to think it all started with a blind date. We had absolutely no idea what life would ask of us. When we promised for better or worse, for richer or poor, and sickness and health, we believe those words with our whole hearts. 25 years later, we know what they really mean.
We’ve built a beautiful life and raised for incredible kids. We’ve walked through job changes, moves, health struggles with her children, and eventually packed her whole life and moved across the country. Life is stretched us in ways we never imagined.
And then came this year.
Cancer brought a whole new meaning to “in sick and in health.” another season we would have never chose.
But here we are.
Still standing. Still choosing each other. Still trusting God.
When I look back, I see so much Blessing and incredible Joy. I also see some really hard seasons I still don’t know how we made it through and ones we are still walking through now.
If 25 years has taught me anything: It’s this. 👇🏽👇🏽🙏🏽
Choose your partner wisely and listen to the Lord. Life can hand you things you never imagined, carrying things that test you, change you and sometimes almost break you. So take it one day, one step, one prayer at a time..
Russ, I am so thankful God chose you for me. There is no one else I would want beside me through this beautiful messy life we’ve built.

Here’s to 25 years, the beautiful and the broken, the laughter and the tears, and every storm God carried us through.

The Belle ❤️ wasn’t the finish line… It was just the end of one part of this journey.
I truly thought I’d start feeling like myself again once Chemo was over. Instead, I’m learning that healing isn’t just physical. It’s emotional. It’s mental. It’s giving yourself grace on the days your body and heart just aren’t where you want them to be.
If this season has taught me anything, it’s that healing doesn’t happen on our timeline. And that’s OK.
If you’re walking through cancer, caring for someone who is or facing your own heart season, I hope this reminds you to be gentle with yourself.
Thank you for following along with my journey. I hope that by sharing the Real, unfiltered parts, you know you’re never alone.

Some milestones are harder than you ever expect.
Today, I’m grateful.
Grateful for the strength to make it through 12 rounds of chemotherapy.
Grateful for every Nurse, Doctor, family member, friend and fellow patient who helped carry me through this chapter. This bell doesn’t mark the end of my cancer journey, but it does mark the end of chemotherapy, and for that, I am incredibly thankful.
To everyone who has prayed, encouraged me, checked in, or simply walked beside me… Thank you.🤍
