Babyyyyy the art on this one has no right to be this beautiful 🥹 I’ll shout them out until they’re tired of me but @lesley_stockton and @ruthiedarling totally crushed the food styling and photography on this one! They really breathed life into this already fun guide ✨

If you want to know what we liked (and what we didn’t 🌚) you can find the guide here! https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/best-frozen-breakfast-sandwich/

I solved the enduring internet mystery of why Talenti containers are so hard to open. And in the process, discovered why what's inside isn't the same as it used to be. My latest for @wirecutter is live!

Thanks to @ruthiedarling for the muscle and amazing top art, and to @qkatie and @wendynotaduck for the perfect video footage.

A museum masterpiece but make it butter 🧈

In 1875, Antoine Vollon painted Mound of Butter, a surprisingly iconic still life that’s become one of the National Gallery’s most beloved paintings.

Nearly 150 years later, New York photographer @ruthiedarling painstakingly recreated the entire scene using real butter under hot studio lights (essentially a race against physics). Then she reimagined the painting as a modern grocery product: wrapped it in plastic, added an ingredients label, and slapped on a price tag.

“Vollon painted butter when butter was just butter,” Ruthie says. “Now it’s artisanal. It’s heritage. It’s small-batch churned. It somehow has seventeen ingredients. Butter didn’t get better in 150 years. It got corporate.” #OpenCall

✨ A New York moment 🍎✨
Can confirm it’s still the greatest city on earth. Yes, there are soaring skyscrapers and blue skies and breathtaking views every which way, but really its magic comes down to two things: the can-do, sky is the limit attitude (“Issy, the sky is the limit!” @littlekuttybear cried as I stepped off the subway) and the people, my people, folks who truly live, are always up for a good time, actually do things (an art in itself) and have a generosity and warmth that I have yet to find matched. I ❤️ you NY… and shout out to my wonderful hosts @florencekingss and @benlauderdykes for being so very welcoming. My heart feels full (and I wanna go back!)
