Simba, meet mini-Simba 🤝🦁

When the incredibly talented @ruthirving reached out about making a handmade ceramic cat matched to Simba, I couldn’t reply fast enough!

Swipe to see Simba sizing up his new twin. I can’t tell if he’s yawning out of boredom or trying to swallow him whole, but he’s definitely obsessed. 😂

This is officially the cutest addition to my bookshelves. Thank you so much, Ruth! Go show her page some love and check out her gorgeous work. These make the absolute best gifts for pet parents!

👇 Let’s chat: Do you have any favorite bookshelf trinkets, or are your shelves strictly for books? (And since the holiday week is basically here, what are your 4th of July plans? 🎆)

Mamba did not enjoy this photoshoot. 🤣 Swipe to the last to see how truly annoyed he was that my daughter and I were holding him for this. He’s a total indoor cat 🐱

Happy Caturday, friends! 🐈☀️

I recently received the most adorable personalized cat figurines from @ruthirving, and I had to share them with you all! I met Ruth at BookCon recently, so I was so thrilled to receive these! The mini Piper and Nelson are perfect editions to my shelves! Piper definitely approves! 😻

I was so excited to open this collaboration package from NYC ceramic artist Ruth Irving ( @ruthirving ) because just LOOK at this tiny kitty 😭 She matched Fiona to one of her hand-sculpted ceramic cats and also included the sweetest little mini food dish with a fish detail. The amount of personality packed into something so tiny is honestly incredible.

Of course the real test was immediate feline approval 😂 Fiona and Griffin had to conduct a full inspection during the unboxing, and I think it's safe to say they were very interested in their tiny new lookalike. I love seeing artists turn pets into something so personal and unique, and this little Fiona mini absolutely melted me.

A little about Ruth and her work: She’s a ceramic artist based in New York creating one-of-a-kind handmade ceramic cats. She releases themed collections on her website a few times each month and also offers “Match Your Cat” drops every Wednesday and Saturday where people can submit photos of their own cats for matching. She also has a Patreon community, The Kitty Club, with early access, discounts, and collector perks before new cats go public. Definitely worth checking out if you're a cat person and a lover of handmade art!

QOTD: If your pet had a tiny collectible version of themselves, what one detail must be included?

@bookcon DAY 1.
Repping our fave @offcampusonprime by @ellekennedyauthor 🙌

Thoughts on the first day?

It was a nightmare, overstimulating, very very crowded. Didnt even care about grabbing an arc in that chaos.

The good? got to meet my fave authors, found lotsa of cute stuff, was lucky at the vending machines. Got to spend it with my bookish peeps @cookieroh @w.h.library
