It was an honor to speak and moderate a panel at @createcultivate about scaling a business without sacrificing your health, happiness, or sense of self.

The incredible women who joined me onstage brought such honesty, wisdom, and generosity to the conversation. Each one was proof that ambition and well being do not have to compete. We can build boldly, lead powerfully, and still protect the lives we are working so hard to create.

For more than 6 decades, he gave women permission to sparkle a little brighter, stand a little taller, FEEL SEXY & BEAUTIFUL…and take up a little more space.

Cher. Diana Ross. Tina Turner. Carol Burnett. Ann Margaret. Liza Minnelli. Judy Garland. Barbra Streisand. Zendaya. Miley. Sabrina… Icons and icons in the making, he made even more iconic through his extraordinary imagination. Pure GLAMOUR! ✨

But underneath all of that glorious fantasy was something far more powerful: CONFIDENCE.

Bob Mackie understood that getting dressed could change the way a woman walked into a room. He celebrated women without apology and reminded generations that being seen wasn’t something to shy away from — it was something to celebrate.

Last year, through my dear friend Jimmy Caruso, I had the extraordinary privilege of meeting Bob. And somewhere in that moment, I’d like to believe just a little of his sparkle dust landed on me — something I quietly carry with me in my own work as a designer.
